This my third mould and I am happy with it, so I though I share it with you
For all those guys that sail around Mandurah or Safety Bay, or weedy spots and are picky about fins will soon or later re-box it!
It works like a charm, just peel off and its done!
The product is called “Elastosil M4503” and I buy it by 1 Kg for 50 bucks (you make 2 moulds medium size with it)
You can find it at *Fibreglass & Resin Sales* they are in Welshpool
www.fibreglass-resin-sales.com.au
I used one of my girlfriend Tups container, and a bit of scrap metal from the shed..
And voila!!
Notes:
I don't use anymore inserts (waste of time), I mould the screws straight in
I keep a fin base in the mould when not using it to make sure it stays to shape

If you need a re-box, get me your fin, I make you one
I just want to show that anyone can make one with few tools

I think I'll be retiring my poor f/glass split moulds and going down the same path which Sam has.

For anyone interested, in reboxing their own fins, the hardest part is setting up the jig, once that's done it's a doddle to do them.

Sam's Silicone moulds look a truck load easier than my f/g split units.

Elmo, just a quick note here, when you tape for the screws, they are not straight, there is a certain angle to set there have fun
