Hi
i need a hat for when i'm not wearing the Gath and the FCS bucket hats look ok.
Anyone have them and what's your opinion?
Are there better ones?
Cheers

I been wearing one for a couple of years now.
If the wind comes up I put the Gath on, but that hasn't happened for
quite a while now.

I have a West one that I mostly wear when SUPing but have worn sailing as well.
No complaints and from memory was about $10 cheaper.

I wear a nylon North Face hat. Its wide brimmed and the brim is tough. Overall its good but it has velcro tabs to pin the brim to the hat besides you head. You get the slouched hat effect when the wind picks up. Patriotic but doesn't help with the sun. I might remove theirs tabs. Two were purchased on special from an outdoors store for about ten dollars each.

I used to wear a straw hat which I think are the best but they fall apart.

i wear an FCS bucket hat.

i loikitalort

it has nice stiff brim so it doesn't flop inyer face

be prepared for a deafening because all the sound gets reflected into your ears, and be prepared to get run over because it's hard to tell what direction the sound is coming from

As a fellow folically challenged one I wear one a lot. When I am not wearing a Gath.
I go through about one a year as they start to let the sun through. No complaints.

There was an FCS hat and sunglasses left at Peli on Weds. Any takers?

Wayne,
This one comes with a free lunch but it doesn't offer much protection.

I got an O'Neil hat but looking at the design of different hats in the shop it seem one company copied the rest.

After getting a sunburn on my nose for the nth time despite putting on block I bought one. Best thing I have ever done.

Any yeah... if you stack it in a big wave it will probably be around your neck. Small price to pay.

FCS bucket hat has been working for me just fine...

... with one small modification: I cut out the fine mesh that covered my ears. Now I can hear if someone's coming up from behind, and can tell if they're coming from port or starboard.
