Sorry to bore everyone with another umpteen gopro video but need to share my first movie I've ever made 
Have used Sony Vegas to edit but still very early days and haven't learnt the ropes so it's all trial and mostly error at moment. One thing I can't find much information on is what file extension should I be rendering movie in for Youtube etc. This one is a quicktime .mov Any assistance would be appreciated.

My last run was about 10minutes long so I cut it with some earlier head cam shots but didn't cut it down enough and realise it's way too long so I'll have to be more selective next time. Just need to sort this resolution issue out. Incredible piece of technology these Gopro's and in fact I had never realised just how tiny they actually are.

Check the lens out in the camera on the mast. Must be cracked or something, the bloke in the shot looks like a professional
Nice shots..I had a vidoe of me taken from the boom looking back & I thought I looked pretty fast but you look faster.. You also weren't huffing & puffing like I was !
This what a friend told me about how to put it on Youtube..
Are you running Window XP? If so you will already have a program call "MovieMaker.exe" - To run it go to the "start" button on the left of you bottom task bar and then select "Programs=>Accessories=>MovieMaker".
When MovieMaker runs you can drag your video to the right-hand frame (assuming that MovieMaker has started up in the "Home" tab) Then, on the left of the "Home" tab is a drop-down menu. Select this and then select "Publish movie" this will allow you to publish directly to YouTube and it automatically re-encode to movie to YouTube size. It will ask you for your YouTube account login details.
Ps - make sure you have a leash attached to the camera so if you knock it off the boom etc it doesnt end up on the bottom like the camera that took the footage of me!

great movie sausage ,should of ended it with a bang, dont worry about the chin strap, choccos carbon boom flexes alot more than yours in his movies

1, After listening to the music I'll never share a room with you, will be busy when you have a party but like the way you nod your head along with it
2, Except for a little grin at the end this is the first time I've never ever not seen you smiling / laughing 
3, The vest makes you look big and strong, to get an R rating try with no shirt for some boobie action
4, Nice water, none of that girlie boy stuff
5, How many times have your family had to watch it, mine start groaning when I say "hey guys come and watch this" 
Seriously I enjoyed it M8 
I render mine HD WMV, I start my Utube upload and go to bed, takes hours with my broadband speed, Utube sorts it as ness. I can also render for online but stick with HD as the file plays good on my PC and also on my PVR when it arrives I hope.

Yeah a great clip and good tunes to go with them too. How far out from shore do you sail? Is it in a big bay or the open ocean?
I've ordered a GoPro and hopefully it will arrive soon along with a 32GB SD card. Its a chrissy present so will have to wait till then.

Thanks for the insight - my wife read your post (specifically points 3 & 5) and had a good laugh. Very funny. Also thanks for the rendering tips - I have redone and changed the music just for Kato and you (you'll hate it more than the first attempt) and I'll post here just to see the difference in definition. Much greater clarity watching the WMV file instead of the Quicktime.mov I posted.

Mine's a chrissie present too but all I'll be opening on the 25th will be empty boxes Yeppoon is open ocean and a fn motorcross track in any wind above 3knots. Don't get too many NE as in video but last run was only about 4 - 5km and pretty parallel with coastline. I'll tend to do 5 km max runs too in South easters which takes you away from the coastline but these you don't want anything to break as you'd wash up about 15km away to the north. Hopefully I'll get to bore everyone again with a SE run soon.
PS - just be careful the 32GB card doesn't cause problems for camera - read somewhere it can't handle it and they recommend 16GB max Class 6. I use an 8GB class 6 and it seems to work very well so far.

Thanks for the heads up on the card. Unfortunately I've already ordered and paid for it. It only cost me $40 so its no great loss. Perhaps it will come in use in our digital camera.

Okay now for the serious stuff. Took Firie's advice and have re-rendered original vid (with new soundtrack just to p1ss off you old fogeys even more) and uploaded to utube. Absolutely amazing the difference in clarity.

Nice work Hoops, what gear are you using there. Looks flatter than I remember sailing near the sailing club. How much wind was there?
Nice vids and great to see another Gopro convert. I mostly shoot in R4 which gives you the 'tallest' field of view and as wide as R3 and R2. Could be something to do with being 2m tall!!.Also R4 is at 960p resolution.
Occasionally I've tried R3 but on the boom but the angle of the camera is more critical
Haven't even tried the other settings.
Use Adobe Premier elements and render in HD 720p 30fps. Don't really understand it all to be honest but it gives a pretty good result without the the file size being too big for You Tube. My Vaio just about copes with the whole HD thing but I'm upgrading soon.
I do the basic edit in Quicktime Pro first to cut the 3.66gb files down to more manageable size files.
Also get an external HDD you end up with lots and lots of GB's of footage
Quicktime Pro also allows you to upload image sequences for timelapse etc when shooting pics at 2 sec or whatever, great fun.

No issues with 32GB cards but go with the recommended ones. Bought a 16GB for my second gopro(yes you will need another one soon!!) because I won't ever need 32GB capacity. Seemed like a good idea at the time.
