Why does Perth metro have wave spots for poleys only ?
I know of two spots.
Kiters are not welcome at these breaks.
No other places in Oz or in WA have this arrangement.

Both have segregated areas so I'd not say kiters are banned.

Today at Dutchies with low tide I saw more consistent waves (if you can call metro slop "waves") in the kiter's area to the north.

Too shallow for polies in the kite area today (not that I ever see any in there) so its swings and roundabouts isn't it?

And you can do a downwinder and get all the waves for 10km except for 100m at Dutchies and 100m at Scabs (which we can't do) so life's rosey for ya

Well using your logic, I, as a polie, am banned from the spot 100m north of the Dutch Inn groyne.
Sheesh, I may have a hissy fit and troll about it (having seen the precedent set by yours truly)

No, you aren't banned from that spot. ^^^
By your own admission, you just can't sail it.
lol.
It's just way too shallow for those ridiculously long fins that dancers use.

You know as well as I do that it can be sailed, just not on a mega low tide like today so stop twisting my words.
Stop having a sook and go for a kite in the 100km of metro coastline that is not those two spots.

lol.(It doesn't even read right)
Sounds a bit possessive, Mark.
When did dancers get a mortgage on wave spots ?
Why poleys only ?
Why are kiters not welcome ?

Redthumb junkie, I'll explain it for you.

Out of the 100km or so of metro coastline there is about 200m total you should not kite. Likewise there is about 200m I should not windsurf.

As much as you think it is a conspiracy against you, it is not, it is equitable....so get over it.

Now go and have a kite sesh, and forget about how all the polies must be out to get you.

You obviously posted your topic due to what Reflex mentioned about getting a kite dropped on him at Scarbs with lines wrapped around him?
A case for segregation if I ever saw it. Oh, how the irony you have created is delicious.

I'm done now, bye.

Not so much banned but as I was launching from Nobbys in Newcastle on tuesday, I notice the clubby race halfway down the beach on his quadbike and stick a sign in the sand 300m from the flags with "No Kites" in this area. Nothing about us poleys though.

there is an attitute of us and them in WA, that dodsn't exist in the rest of the country. Polies were the lowest in the food chain until kiters came along.

But now we can all be friends and hate SUPS together.

just wondering, is it possible to ban kiters from this wave spot?

well just one kiter and it is a wave spot as you have to "surf" the net to get here and it can be a bit up and down

wow, one has to get up early just to read the whole thing...

If the sign is genuine, then it looks like one less beach that kiters will get closed.

^^^^ Strewth these are popping up all over the place, not just the two spots in Perth that are the only places (according to waveslave)

Geez, anyone would think some kiters have ruined it for the rest of them. But that can't be the case (apparently)

When smoking cannabis, the effects of THC on psychomotor functions usually start once the concentration in the blood has reached 10ng/ml plasma.
Test subjects reported severe anxiety and impaired psychomotor functions. Other effects included transient symptoms of derealisation, depersonalisation, and paranoid delusions.

One can only surmise that the paranoia may have passed (for the moment) as the test subjects focus switched to appetite cravings.
This could explain the sudden departure from the topic of discussion by the subject, but will no doubt result in a return to the THC induced symptoms of derealisation, depersonalisation and paranoid delusions once the concentration of THC in the blood stream has once again reached 10ng/ml plasma.

The truth of the matter is alot of you idiots are untrained untrainable and dont care for your own saftey or the saftey of the general public.
If kitesurfers continue to place the general public in danger with launching and landing of kites in public area they will continue to be banned.
I sygest in future that if you want to save more areas for kiting you will have a more safer out look about pubic liability.
i dont blame the experienced kiters for this just the noobs who cant control there kite and certainly need more lesson and supervision
