Lucky bastards. I'm stuck at home doing work in the yard and it's blowing about 5 knots at best. and it's been that way for weeks.

We are very spoiled for wind over here.
It is so regular we just come to expect it and are disappointed if we don't get 5 sailable days per week (or if the two unsailable ones fall on weekends!).

jh, you deserve a medal for patience and loyalty to the sport if you've had 2 season's worth of ACT sailing in two weeks in WA!

I think Jason can probably also speak for the rest of NSW as well.

We (a few mates and I) spend three weeks in WA each summer and spend the rest of the year remembering what it was like to sail there almost every day!

Please, someone tell me some negatives to living in WA. There must be something bad about windsurfing there, even if it means you wear your gear out ten times faster...

Your hands get calluses and you have to put up with all these tourists from the east

and you get really tired and sometimes you think "It's windy and I really should go sailing but I just don't feel like it" and then you think "WHAT AM I SAYING???"

Yeah, yeah... my hands are wrecked every time I come back from WA. It looks sorta embarrassing

Tourists from the east? I think I could put on a German or Italian accent and blend right in

Do you guys get much sailing time in winter?

Autumn is the quiet time. About six weeks of very light wind, sunshine and moderate temperatures. Wonderful picnic, SUP, kayaking and camping weather.

In winter the fronts are erratic but are frequently 30 -40 kts when they come.
Windy but cold and grey.
