Here are some pics of yesterday. I finally persuaded my partner to take some pics + video of me so I'd have some memories when I'm older & greyer..
We got there early so there was only myself + John from Qld who is travelling. How lucky is he to strike a day like that?
Don't you hate it when there is someone so much better than you on the water your photographer likes taking pics of them more than you..[}:)].
I'll post the ones of me 1st as I look pretty boring compared to John..I wanted to get some jumping pics but after 2 jumps on the first run where I got the sail too far forward and suffered nasty catapults on landing I decided to play it safe..Not that is stopped the wind from getting under my board and flipping it downwind with me attached and other stacks..

Looking good on your blue Tabou Rocket Sboard. Only a few of us left, still appreciating the magic ride of the Tabou Rocket. Can you still buy them? Was also out on mine yesterday. ( Though this is an archival photo, I only get photographed once or twice a decade. )

Sort of but I should have been on my 78ltre instead of the 95.I've only sailed the 78 about 1hr and gybes are a bit dicky as a result whereas I'm used to the 95 and can gybe better.I wanted to look good for the camera..Prob why I splattered on my first jump attempts..
If I had a smaller sail & board I might have attempted a few more jumps but I was quite overpowered in the gusts.
I'd read some theory on mast base placement and decided to try it so I left the mastbase a bit further back than I usually would in those conditions..wrong....If it works leave it alone!

Looks like Canberra Ian? Typical that when I leave for hols you guys get some nice wind ^_^ Brought my FS gear up to Canberra, got out for 20min the other day in an 'easterly', planed about 4 times....I was stoked hahha

Sboardcrazy; break out the wave board! Looks well windy, small boards are the order of the day, make it a new years resolution, you don't improve your overall skillset by sticking with the 'safe option'. Just saying

Sue, where did you get your sailworks sail from? It looks very much like one off my old one's that I traded in to Boardcrazy.

Had plenty of wind up here just a bit gusty though. 9 hours is a bit beyond what i'm prepared to drive to sail for one day but i would do it for a couple maybe. Where exactly do they sail down there. I lived on the Central Coast (East Gosford) for 29 years so i know alot of the areas north and south of there.

Is Zorro the dog in the profile pic ? I assume he's staying somewhere local so maybe Zorro is at home.

Boardcrazy..a couple of years ago - hardly used? My 3.8m looks the same and I bought it in as new condition last season. 1st use on that day.

CJW - I will be.If I wasn't getting photos taken I would have been on it as it picked up.It would have been great as the ramps were really building by then but I was too overpowered/ overboarded (?) to risk jumps.
When I first got there I was a bit underpowered in the lulls and holding on in the gusts and the chop wasn't too bad. I was suprised when the wind got under the gear and threw me as I didn't really think it was any worse than usual ..or at least I've sailed in those conditions plenty of times and not been thrashed.
I took the little board out after the crash with a 3.8 on and I was suprised that it was a handful .I think a smaller fin would have helped but by then I'd been out c 2hrs and was injured so I decided to play it safe .As it was it tailwalked as I came after I unhooked and flipped trapping my ankle in the strap - I thought I'd broken it..). I've got a photo of it tailwalking that Ill post when we get it edited ( its in RAW).
Grr I only did one run with the little board & absolutely flew!I was really keen to see what photos he got but the only one he took was at the end when it was about to toss me off.[}:)] Must have looked more interesting..
Problem is it doesn't often blow a consistent 25kts + up here and the lulls are a bugger with the little board.

The link takes you to Google maps but not the actual spot. Did a search and it's not far from Swansea. I know the area to some extent. I used to waterski at Wangi Wangi a bit from the caravan park when we stayed there. Sometimes we would drive the boat up near where you sail but not quite that far up.
Been to Catherine Hill Bay heaps of times too, really nice spot. I recon that would be a good spot for a wave sail.

Here's a few extra photos.I can't sail [}:)]so I may as well post some pics..3 days of decent S!.John have you been getting out?

Above - End of the only run on the 78ltre.Last run . Unhooked ready to come in.Board flipped and jammed my ankle..argh... Check out the expression on my face..

Shows the swell on the lake. It can get bigger than this though. I've been out there when there are 3 -4 ' rollers coming down the lake and you can play on them.

You certainly struck it at the right time. It's been a pretty crappy season from a NE perspective .Not too bad from a S but you got the best windwise and it wasn't raining which is generally the go with S lately. I'm still hobbling around hoping I'll be ok for a sail in the NE's next week.
I went kayaking today which I handled ok except for the agony bending my leg to get in and out of it.

It's a top spot in that if there is wind blowing you can generally find a place with a good angle to go out. When did you sail it?
