Man that place looks awesome for some freestyle action. Does anyone do any freestyle there?

With water that flat I reckon I could finally crack the tripple spock.

Rad Lad - Ricardo Campello was there on Monday pulling off some radical freestyle. Hopefully the pro photographer who was there will have some shots.

Mineral 1 - that video was from the slalom racing so it was pretty hairy making the gybes around the markers.

Awesome weekend. Sat/Sunday was 8 - 12 kts however Monday was 20 kts AM building to 30 kts after lunch. Some guys stayed on the water until after dark and were sailing with helmet lights. A few guys I spoke to where posting pb's on there GPS's of 40 - 42 kts during the late afternoon sessions. It was fantastic just going and joining in not knowing anyone but ended up speaking to heaps of people and getting some great tips. Some guys had travelled from interstate to get involved - they where not disappointed when they posted PB's on there GPS despite one guy being wiped out by a kiter's board at 40 kts and losing skin and his gps. Spoke to SHQ and the event has been going for 20+ years. - missed out on a lot of good times on hearing some of the stories!! Got to meet a lot of Seabreeze members(missed a heap also) which was great - roll on 2009.

Awesome weekend...
Rad Lad, Ricardo was pulling off some sick stuff, and Fletch, Evan, Andy and Pete were trying to copy him... Spocks, Grubbies, Flakas, even a couple of loops from Andy I think. I just crashed a lot... It's a brilliant spot for Freestyle, you've just got to be very careful about where you're trying your tricks because you don't want to crash in front of one of the lads on a 40+ knot speed run...

The guy from NSW was using a Garmin without any bag or box and no form of safety strap on his strap.Alastair (Kite Boy ,not the pirate) was also trying for speed, wiped out and lost his board.Floating kite boards are hard to see in the water. Al also went kiting with us later that night. He might be the first kiter to do so.Respect anyone who just wants to push their limits

Flicky you must have been one of the few who had a look behind before spinning, flicking, bouncing and jibing. Nearly nailed one guy who cut across the front of me ,flicked and crashed. Lucky i had shut down and was ready for something silly. When done right it looked amazing. Huge amount skill, much better to watch than us going fast.

Yeah, Flack - awesome to have some crowd noise! Always like to get cheer from anyone when I crash - if I'm not stricking a trick it's nice to know I'm providing some entertainment!

Kato - yeah, tried to be very careful about positioning, especially considering that even up on the plane I was regularly doing 10 -15 knots less than the speed boys howling down the beach!

Confession though - on one occasion I was getting a bit close into the beach, had a good look upwind and found three guys coming screaming down at me and decided to get out of the way... only to cut across the path of a bloke with an old powerful brightly coloured Gaastra who was previously hidden behind my clew - I was going a bit down wind, he was coming upwind hard to get onto the speed run and was totally hidden to me (I didn't actually think it was possible, but honest to god I had a good look aroudn before I did it and didn't spot him!). I kinked in front of him causing him to stack - big splash and then he surfaced and I gave him a wave to say sorry - and got one back to say he was ok, but felt pretty bad about it. Couldn't find him on the beach later on to say sorry, so if that was you Kato, sorry mate - I owe you a beer....
