I am just working on a quick eject sleeve pocket knife... first prototype worked well on ropes of someone who didn't look where he's headed and lowered the kite directly infront of me.

What made me think of that ad was from the other day when out sailing and came across a kiter who had become seperated from his board. The guy was body-dragging across the wind waiting for his board to drift down to him.
Thought that it looked like bloody hard work so stopped and threw his board to him. No skin off my nose and the kiter was very appreciative.
Not 20 minutes later, had a different kiter, who was on give-way tack, stop and change directions (not sure what the kite lingo for that masterful maneouver is called) right in front of me.
He then starts this battle of forcing me upwind. He keeps looking back at me with the same expression of the character in the ad - crazed eyes, tongue lolling about his mouth.
No probs, not interested in this as I want to go further downwind so bear away and this dingbat lowers his kite in front of me and starts forcing me downwind.
Unfortunately this puts us on a collision course with the students learning to kitesurf. I gybed before we got there, but this tool sails full belt through the learner area.
For the record, I will still in future stop to help someone who clearly needs it as it is only the ding-a-lings who give the rest the bad name.

^^^^^^yep, same in all sports,
More than enough dancers also dont understand the surf rules and f@ck it up for all.
All you can do is have a friendly chat to the dance/kiter so they know the deal.

And why do poledancers always follow you right to the beach?????
Leaving you no other choice but to ride up into 2 inches of water, stop, and wait for them to disco around their pole and turn.[}:)]

Where do they think you are going to go when you run out of water???????
common sence people.

Inefficient = 10m kite Vs 5m sail

Where's the efficiency in that - you have half the efficiency as you need the equivalent of twice the sail area to get your speckled board shorts moving - poor slavey he gonna have to think real hard now

I LIKE THAT! WHAT YA SAID.. WILL HAVE TO TELL SOME OF ME MATES THIS NEVER THOUGHT OF IT LIKE THAT, YOU SMART COOKIE

Same old, old poledancers feed waveslave,

Dont know where you got that from, never ASSume anything old boy,
Hey,a young bull is teaching an old bull something.
Just pointing out the fact that there are people who dont follow the unwritten rules in both sports.

Try attaching your 5m sail to a thin, little kiteboard hull... ^^^
Factor that into your flawed equation.

You will look like a knob if you do.

"My sail is more efficient than yours. Nah! Nah! Nah! Nah!"

"Yes but mine is much more effective than yours. I can go faster, fly higher, point further upwind, in a much wider wind range, in much shallower water, or even up onto the beach .... on my 135cm board ... and transport it all in a backpack, and it's cheaper than yours ..."

Thats great,
I dont know why your trying to impress me with you 100 mile an hour jibes and really cool jumps???? Im glad you love windsurfing.
Maybe your just trying to get me to bite,,,,your trolling for a reaction????
I have not said your not heaps awsome,,
Just saying there are d!cks in both sports that dont understand common respect in the waves.

... then fall in. It's even worse when they have the death stare speed rush. Flat stick straight at the beach, through the shore break, then splosh.

Kiters do that too. It gives me the sh'ts. Tail gating in all it's forms is a crime. On the road. On the water. Poleys or kiters. Grrrr!

I'll bet you can't do any of that stuff. Most poleys can't do a carving gybe, let alone a lay down ... although lay down gybing corrects most of the technique problems to do with stalled gybes. You know how it forces you to get your weight forward and engage the rail?

It's almost too easy to do full speed, lay down, one hand, carving gybe on a kite and either a surfboard (strapped or not) or a kiteboard. Even nicer to do them in the flat water in front of a wave or the glass behind a breakwater.

well if it's so easy on a kitesurfer why do "most" of the kiters i sail with either hit the reverse switch right in front of me or boost and land on my mast?
