Can anyone give me some advice about whether this is repairable? It got a bit of water into it when it happened but has been sitting in a nice warm garage for about 2 years now. Second question is, if it is repairable, does anyone know of anyone on the NSW South Coast / Sydney area that could do it? I have neither the knowledge, ability or tools to do it myself (as my wife reminds me when I start most DYI jobs).
yep, that's repairable, can't help you with a repairer in NSW though.
Although saying that, does Keef live anywhere near you? I'm sure he's more than capable of making that usable again.
this is my 4yo's left arm he broke on Tuesday.
the paediatric surgeon said it was the worst break he'd seen in someone his age.
if they can repair this, then I'm sure your board can be repaired.
this stuff will fix anything. cut a bit of a trench, sand sides and fill.http://www.solarez.com/productsnew/g_epoxy.htm
Thanks. I'll buy some epoxy and call Keef. He might even lend me a weed fin when it is back on the water
pete if we have a good n/e on the weekend the inverloch guys are here ,we can show them some gustbuster hospitality, bring the board down and ill fix it for you and you can pick it up on the next good breeze
mind you it mite not look the same but it will be water tight, looks like the core is fractured and a bit of delam on the outer core ,after looking at it I don't think the main crack is the problem , I can see a fracture going back to the mast track, fractures are like icebergs you only see 5%, saying that its still fixable, either way pete ill cya on the water soon
I agree Keef, by the amount it's flexing under finger pressure, there's more to it than just the surface crack. It needs a thorough investigation.
A "quick fix" would probably very soon crack again.

If you can't get someone to fix that for you down south there is a guy on the central coast named Symmo who is brilliant. PM me for his details if you want.
