Did 5 months on crutches don't worry it goes way quicker than you think it will. First sail last week and felt so good.

Dude, that sucks. I'm just coming off a surgery rehab and went sailing too soon and screwed up my back. Make sure you do your comeback gradually and don't push too hard! I was getting super depressed though - it's really hard sometimes to see that the bad time is not forever.

I feel the pain, still recovering from an elbow (radial head) reconstruction. It will be many more months till I get back full movement.

So you've had the operation buddy! Here's to a speedy recovery - as fibresnap said - take your time and make sure you do the physio rehab.

Will see you around watching from the beach. Mind you I am getting closer to getting back on the water. It's been a long five months post op. but I think it should be worth it.

I'm not sure if it's global warming but shallow water hasn't been a problems for at least a year!
On the flip side, I did some modifications to a property adjoining the estuary a few weeks back and when I dug the holes for the stumps I hit water at 500mm deep !!!
(and the stumps went down 600mm) Just tipped the 'rapid set' into the hole.

Thanks mate. Sitting on the shore watching is just not quite as much fun. I also had to be home before my wife, in case she finds out I've been driving my van as its a manual!!!

Its amazing what you can learn to do using only one hand/arm. eg. cracking eggs into the pan, chopping wood, zipping up your fly, spreading vegimite on toast, uncorking wine.... but windsurfing - no chance. I cant imagine water starting using one hand, I struggle with two
