Cervantes

Slowy Jumping
Sunset at Port Beach
Same here Anita, I did have a peek a few times at the river but not enough wind in the arvos for me, I only had a 5.9 no cam by then, I did get a couple of good morning runs in at Majestic. See you next year maybe
Fixed now Troppo
Hi firie. can i add to your thread? I'm touring here too. We went to cervantes and it was blowing nicely, but there was no one there. Where do you sail there?
some pics from corros from the last few days. been big forecasts, but like qld, it rarely happens. today was a decent blow for the first time since arriving last friday. it's been lucky to have been any more than 15-20 at best till today
Haircut, the last two weeks have been unseasonally dismal for wind.
ISAF will be finished this weekend, then the wind will come back.
Nothing like a sailing comp to kill wind.
Hi Haircut, as usual great shots mate, got to love those WA sunsets hey. I hope you get some good wind, the ocean there is bloody awesome, I love it. I finally stepped up with my camera, empty pockets but happy.
Was very nice to meet you Mark, if you have any brains you would be out of the water late arvo same as me, so no photos. I was so cold taking the chopper photos at Cervantes my arse cheeks were shivering, I kid you not.
R1DER, ignorance is bliss, the pilot know the rep of the R22
Haircut, here is a link to show where they guys sail up at Cervantes

PS, there is a shot of some ol bastard from Queensland in that lot.
All said and done 15 to 20 knots seabreezes in Geraldton with tropical rain for a week give us all the ****s. But hey even with the lighting tower on at that time was fun.......and different,WEzzzz sailed with a sweet swell on a hight tide for the last 2 hours of the day. I was lit on my 5.7and big board. The sun set was unreal and the full moon busted through the clouds. (i got my fix )
Wezzz get that lighting tower happening again for shore.
Hope you hung around after that 1 average week because ive never seen so much cloud in Geraldton myself ......good or bad news depending on your time in the west ........... it hasnt stoped blowen after that and its been super fun day after day
and it looks like the xmas cheer will be celebrated after some good sailing hope your around for it sunday 18/dec looken forward my friend
they were in the sail bag. didn't you get a pair when you got yours?
Hi KOP. Yes still here. The last few days have been good. Not much of a wave. I think Friday / saturday last week were the best of the waves since arriving.
there were some crack sailors there yesterday. Best I've witnessed with my own eyes, and they were all from overseas. On freestyle boards they do freestyle on a wave (not much waves around btw), waveride with freestyle gear on a wave better than the aussies do with their quads / thrusters / twins etc. where do they sail to get so good?
Most people also don't have the patience to learn freestyle which is disappointing because the extra sail and board control skills you learn translate directly into any other discipline.
I'll be up in Canberra for a week and a bit from Friday Akim, will bring my FS gear and hopefully some wind with me. You and the fam. will probably have escaped to the coast though chasing wind for Alex I guess
I just pretend the stones are roses.
Another thing is people can get embarrassed falling in, and you do lots of falling in while learning.. Then it gets dismissed as 'Gay' followed by the statement 'I'm not doing that sh!t'
I used this excuse when all my mates started to learn switch, I decided that was **** and learnt everything regular stance.. Looking back I was just frustrated that everybody else could sail switch but me.. I think I even used the excuse that I was Australian, and switch is Euro..
I'm still the same with learning moves both ways, 'screw that I already know it one way, why learn it twice'
But I know enough to find a flat day at Corros just as enjoyable as any other.
some waves here today, but the coronation beach wind generator machine is stuck at 13knots instead of the recent 15knots
the crack foreigners must have known something as they weren't in the car park at the break of dawn
i've realised that the more stickers you've got on your sail, the better you are. i'm off to the shop for stickers
yes speaking of wetties, it's been cold as soon as the sun sets, but it's nicer than sticky humidity
a couple more from yesterday. i like freestyle gurlies
everyone's local fave
someone sailing from last few days with a silver severne who managed some very big tidy backloops. unfortunately i didn't get any shots of the biggies
