Edit:
Well according to my post most people wanted to see the pictures so i added them in with the explaition so you can see the progress i made. Will also say that on the SECOND Monday dad booked the hotel for at least another 2 and a half weeks. Didn't expect the quick recovery i guess.

A brief explination:
Mon: Flew out to Melbourne.
Tues: First time to hospital, tests and crap all day, admitted to my discust to be taken off all medication and put on drips.
Wed: Most boring day ever, still well but in hospital with drips in my arm. Good to get visit from cousin and good mate though.
Thurs: Surgery very early morning after a shocking sleep. Ended up not going completely how planned and took almost 14 hours.
Fri:Out for full day in ICU, opened eyes for first time very last that night apparently.
Sat: Still in ICU, not much changed.

Sun: Came out of ICU late in day to normal cardiac ward, nothing much changed either.
Mon: Good day, drank for first time (coke) and had TWO WHOLE spoon fulls of jelly. Unfortunatley that night i vomited all night and had a very bad one which resulted in me loosing the affect of my first dose of medication as well. Took me off another drug which was very affective pain relief post operative, however also made me very sick.

Tues: Prity standerd day, was comfortable and nothing to much happend. That night chest drains and that were taken out and i was stitched up which made a HUGE difference. Local clowns came around as well but i was so knocked up on madazalan that i don't remember. Porbably a good thing, apparently it was like i was high.

5 Minutes later...

Wed: All of a sudden this was a major rurning point and i was walking and eating this day for first time.

Thurs: Improvement but once again prity standerd and was comfotable. Also saw out a window and outside for the first time.
Fri: AMAZINGILY let back to the motel and big improvement. Just great to get out the hospital and everything. Ovcourse the first thing i did even before being let out that day was when the drips were taken out i headed straight to the hospital park to get outside. Sleep wasnt great but better than in hospital. Caught a taxi the 400M back to the motel. Didn't take long for me to make a mistake though and got a big scab under my nose, as you can see in the picture.

Sat: Relaxing day saw friends, family etc. Still had to go back to hospital though.
Sun: Relaxing day saw friends, family etc. also got to go the the Melbourne Zoo.

Mon: Relaxing day saw friends, family etc. Still had to go back to hospital though. + discharged formally which was awsome. Also got out of motel to stay at families place for the night which was great.
Tues: Once again just a blood test and then came home which is great. Also met someone in the hospital that my mum and dad had become good friends with. She had a baby Hamish that was going into surgery so i went up to ICU for the first time to see him. Quite different place there, the pictures just don't show how flat out and intense it is. ICU is the Intensive Care Unit and i also met the doctors that had looked after me, some when i was even 9 months old the first time round.

Anyway theres all the pictures with the description, hope it shows a bit more of what i been doing the last couple weeks.

Cheers

I shall never complain about work again.

Someone said it before, I'll say it again: Chicks dig scars. My wife has even said something like "You're not really a man without a big scar".

P.S. Those clowns were never really there.
P.P.S. In some photos looks like the cloning operation was a success.

Good luck mate. You're tougher than us all. Tell us when you get back on the water.

No wonder it all went well.
I can see you had lots of machines that go "PING".
Can't go wrong once you've got lots of those.

There's a couple of candidates for the caption competition.
I think the clown one is particularly suggestive. What about "Organ harvesters at work"

Did you get em to put in a GPS while they were in there?

Seriously, my younger Bro just had a spinal fusion, and the panadiene forte completely wrecked his stomach, will take 12 months to recover from that.

Hey Bubs, thanks for posting these photos. No, really. You've given me quite a reality check. Here's me feeling sorry for myself 'cos some stuff wasn't going all that brilliantly at work lately. But then to see the chit that you've just been through makes me realize that my woes were pretty bloody petty. And you no complain. So thanks for that.

It's probably just as well that you were spaced out when the clowns came to visit. If they did happen to get you into a fit of laughter, I doubt that the sight of exploding stitches would have been pretty.

Sorry Dave thats as good as i can get. But do keep in mind my parents had to take these pictures i reckon it would have been prity hard for them. They did an alright job with what we got i think.

edit: Just re read your post and realized you could have been being sycastic lol. Not so sure. Still think the surgan needed to take pics during the operation though.

Then more after that again. Prity tough i reckon cant believe what they are going through. But think, my parents did that for me when i was a baby as well lol.

Cool Pics, Did your M & D get to take any during the operation you can put up ?
I used to work in theatre and it's amazing how they use grinders and saws etc to cut through your bones(sternum) to open your chest cavity up. So good we live in a age of pain killer drugs. Still would have hurt but.

Greeny thats shocking lol. Red the nurses were awsome trust me, but ill keep it to myself i reckon, one of the only benifits of me going to hospital.

And no my parents certainly wern't allowed in the theater. Even if they were, Mum especially wouldn't have been able to cope. There were things that happend just in ICU and the wards which they found prity hard to watch my and Mum even had to leave some of the time. My chest is still quite swalen (spelling) from the breaking of ribs and what not but they kept me prity much out of it which was good. Still sore, but i'll just go slowly and recover over the coming weeks. See how i go.

Hey Bubs, there's been a recent scientific discovery, apparently humans have a spelling gland located in the heart, so yours should improve as your recovery progresses.
