Check out the latest red hot windsurfing video from Singapore....at 25-30 seconds, you'll see a Japanese guy gybe. He's on a formula board, 11.8m sail -- and he's barely planing!

I weep, oh how I weep...

Get yourself some good rubber and head to the southern states for a winter. Its only cold when your watching it or rigging up.

It might be cold but at least you'll be sailing a few times every week (sometimes every day)

My colleague moved here from Singapore because she says it sucks.

Why are you in Singapore?

wet willy, i told you to come over and have a beer with me sometime . we have been getting 25+ knots evey day of the week here in VIC. the southern states is where the wind goes in winter son.

WA,SA,VIC,part of NSW they all go nuts this time of year with alot of wind. While i have been told the northly states get skunked alot.

i think the northly states come alive in spring and summer.

i only use one sail 5.4 and a some times she gets bit too powerfull for me.

and those dudes on that big formula stuff i feel sorry for them i could not stand having wind like that all the time

i can hear the wind outside my window right now wet willy as i typed this for you son

check out our forcast dude for this week its all green brother

Mr W,
You must be talking about a different 'Victoria' to the one I live in! Getting a bit of wind on the occasional day, but not "25+ knots evey day of the week"!

that screenshot is all very well but what am I supposed to do for those 6 hours Sat eve when its not blowing !?!

(P.S. I love the way you photographed your screen and then fed the photo back in, have a look at your keyboard for a button called "Print Screen")

Last sunday was supposed to be good (i.e. good enough) but stopped blowing by 11a.m. @ green point

Now if i'd had that Formula board & sail............actually i still would've been slogging

Actually ive just watched the rest of the video. At least there does appear to be a "scene" there, albeit different.
Reminds me more of a dinghy sailing club where we'd still race on a mirror-like lake.

Get yourself a Starboard Serenity

whats that geelong got the highest wind gust of 33 knots today. sure buddy we have no wind

whooooaaaaa! Steady on there bruiser! You might want to ease up on the red bull!

I wasn't saying we have no wind...and yes, my forecast is showing around 20-25kts nearly every day also, but that's not the actual wind that we're getting (not in my playground anyways). I'm all for keeping Vic. on the windsurfing map, and at the moment, it's just starting to peak at around 20kts which is sensational, but there's a big difference between sailing in 25+kts, & a 25kt gust.

If you are getting 25+kts, good for you! I hope you're getting plenty of water-time!

ha you guys need to come to tassie at least 1-3 sails a week in winter and the last week had over twenty knots but have not bothered due to a bit gusty and up and down.next few days look really good so will give it a go wed to mon all over twenty two knots north west with sat and sun looking twenty six to thirty knot so the need for speed will be on ! so good for here.sorry to rub it into the guys that dont have wind at the moment it will come.........

i tried to copy, past but would not let me . will try that tip of yours son .cheers

Just press "printscreen" button. Open Paint and press paste and it should be there.

Re: the 25knots, you're technically right. It will probably get to 25knots at least once, at some time at some place. Unfortunately it is often not where and when I want it to be. Example: After a disappointing run on Sunday afternoon at Rye, I went out on Monday morning before Uni and ended up swiming my board in, then of course the wind flipped west up to 25knots when I had to go to Uni.
