The summer of 2010/2011 was heaps better for windsurfing around Sydney than the summer of 2009/2010.
Good times (windy) bad times (not windy) but that is what they invented other forms of watersport for. The choices, surfing or SUPing and if there is a little bit of wind SUP windsurfing. I say bring on winter for early morning glass and late morning light wind sailing.
2011 was a lot better than 2010 around here..just lately we have the doldrums & it sounds like places N & S are getting our wind..Send it back![}:)]
Well at least the lakes that have been dry for about 6 years filled up again, had some great northlys in nov but from hear on the days get shorter and the wet suits get thicker
As above, but spent plenty of time on my mtb & started to sup. Looking forward now to our typical winter squalls & hailstorms with my 4/3 & hood! Unfortunately, not ws fit, so will have to take extra care in the storms!
It aint over till its over. Ive had a great summer, often sailing 5 out of seven days. you cant blame the weather if its blowing when you're at work....
I can usually determine how much windsurfing I've been doing by the expansiveness or not of my beer gut...I thought I must have just been drinking more beer ???
And Hairy , Ive seen you plane in 10 knots with just a smallish freestyle rig !
(spooky powers???)
Lots of wind
Bugger all waves
I reckon we've sailed at least 1-2 times per week (except last week) since xmas
4.2-6.3m Can't complain about it too much.
Summers our off season but it has been worse than normal, I will say this has been dead set the worst 12 months I have been through in 19 years
41c again in Gero ....summer finished yesterday, so i was told.
Winds been offshore so hold of on the complaints.WA
IVE nearly forgotten what a southerly is for Feb.
I'm risking it.
