Right now!

Safety Bay 9am. Blowing spray and foam. 40 knots+ and unsailable (for me anyway).

Boom!

The spectating would be entertaining though...
I'm tempted to drive down just for a look!

Just wait a while-it'll come good. Surely you want the predicted swell increase to kick in first anyway?

Where I'd rather be (if I had the skills). There's something about being thrown around in a violent ocean, and surviving. Remote. Almost alone. And feeling very, very small. I used to surf in similar and it's another world.

Somewhat related is this video from Fuerteventura from a few years back. Captures the atmosphere really well (I assume; I've never been there). Enjoy.

Can't wait to see some footage from the next Storm Chase.

well Gazz, i'm supposed to be site based from the 12th september doing 3:1, however i'm not sure that start date will happen. (no beds)

Planning to do g'loo for my first r&r plus take a few days leave to get a better stint. so maybe 4-13 october. but if i start a week later i'll go up a week later.

Talking about fat though... the knee and ankle injury have taken their toll on my waist line. If i get up on site i think i'll try and keep off the piss and hit the gym hard so that the trip isnt a complete waste due to lack of fittness.

I havent got any gear ready for the trip yet. I still havent windsurfed or kited yet since my injury yet either! oh well!

I was down there a few weeks back blowing 35's and a crew of speed sailors were gearing up doing runs across the weed bank. They seemed to be extremely knowledgeable and precise with there gear gear setup for the conditions and were chomping at the bit to rig up and get out as quick as possible.

Think the key to staying safe it knowing you limits and experience in conditions and areas.
As popular as Kitesurfing is there was not 1 kite out!!!

As for that picture t11 i think those conditions are for the say 10-15 percent of top end windsurfers (like speed sailors) when it get above 35.

I get really freaked out when it starts raining and i can barely open my eyes!!! Need a gaff with super fast shield wipers!
