Good on ya,most of us will read this and ring 20 of our mates to come out with you
Maybe this is the problem, you expect everyone to get out of the water when you and a couple of ya mates turn up???????WTF
And you expect everyone else to slow down and slog along behind you till you pick a wave because its your turn??????????dreaming buddy.

First to the wave gets it,simple,

How long have we waited for a kiter to say that

Tell all ya buddies cos I very rarely see kiters respect the 'first on a wave' rule.
As I said above, mostly windsurfers do the right thing and everyone picks a swell one by one, taking turns, and just as you are about to go down the line for your first turn a kiter on the inside turns onto it.

Pleeassse tell your buddies

Wow,sucks to be you at your local.

So what are you guys doing about it.
Complaining on a widsurfing forum wont help,
Have any of you actually spoken in person to the offenders.

Might be an idea for one of you polers to start a post on the kite forum seeing as winter is just around the corner.

Might be an idea for you bunch of whining pussies to get over the whole thing and go sailing.
Have a listen to yourselves.
Poor Relative, over 6500 posts on an internet forum? Who the **** are you to comment on anything related to reality. You obviously don't have any water time with that sort of computer usage.
Slave, you poor dumb tool. Why don't you tell us how you really kite around screaming at every one on your home made piece of ply wood and having tantrums in the car park , rather than portraying some pathetic internet life of you being some wave demon stalking waves and gunning it to the peak "post haste". LOL .That's a catch phrase for 13 year olds, not 50 year old internet stalkers.
It's pathetic that this thread is even here. LMB

Might be a rather naive question, but:

"Why do windsurfers and kiters both have forums on the same website?"

The only thing these sports have in common, is water.

Maybe we need a split, just like Prince Ron did with his "Hutt River Provence" in WA in 1969!!!

Even if they were on different continents the kiters would still come over and troll the windsurf forums

I can think of plenty of things in common: love of the ocean, love of the wind, the rush of nailing a wave, being out in the elements, tweaking your gear for best performance ... and on and on .. I can think of more in common, than not in common.

Boogie boards, shortboards, longboards, sup, windsurfing, kitesurfing - we all get a kick out of riding waves, just different vessels.

I've kited/windsurfed with packs of windsurfers & kiters. I surf. I SUP.

A wave hog is a wave hog. No matter what sport he's doing.

It comes down to the individual, not the "group"

Why does everybody generalise about everything?

I have great mates in all these sports. It's up to us as individuals to get past the "pack hate" mentality, and understand there are pinheads in every sport in the world.

I wonder why poleys can't fang hard upwind anymore ?
Maybe they never could ?
Maybe the big, boxey boat-rail shaped into the poleboard is what makes them drift downwind so much ?
They need some refinement.

Sympathy for WSlave... Obviously feeling threatened by all the local WS talent heading down to his break and showing how to really ride waves

I tried to translate what K.O.P was saying, I think this might have been it:

Its 18 to 23 knots seabreeze, some waves.

He wants to hang about outside the break waiting for set waves to arrive rather than sailing in/out waiting for the set wave.

People who sail or kite faster than him should allow him to do that (hang about outside the break not taking the small waves he is "on" but instead waiting for a good one).

If I have translated that correctly then I think he is guilty of exactly the same crime the kiters are guilty of. ie looping about picking of the good stuff and not letting people who have "waited their turn" take the wave they have ridden in from out the back.

I have had a few beers so may be near to K.O.Ps mental state or miles off it but it sounds unreasonable to me.

Having said that I would only barely know a wave after I surfaced from under the white water, but I think I know the "rules".

Hard pole (hows thnz)..........

I DO NOT SUPPORT /hovering /waiting/ STALLING stacking the line up NOT GUILTY of that charge be for you your hounour on this occassion.

Every one slows down to a point at some stage to catch a fire breathing dragon and should let a few dragons through (GOOD kALMA) also i see it as a wave to cleaning the line up out if some ones on the inside .

Basically (kiter was just planning,, and i was plodding and planning either / or .To plan i just had to head off the wind a bit power up no difference in performance.

i could only effectively do this from about 30m past the line up.... but

Through the line up and to that 30m OUT TO SEA enjoyed pintching up wind relaxed criusing and watching others riding the wave and flicking out ........

i was going all the way out the back waiting my turn and was always last one out ther back before returning to the beach.

MEAN TIME I GOT KITES BOMBING ME.... EXPLODING ON THE WATER UPWIND. CREW ATTEMPTING 360 WAVE RIDING AIRIALS SKIDING THROUGH THE LINE UP BOARDS GHOASTING, crew jyding on garbage us up wind .............

..............TKO my self .......

Have a good one ocean doods ................oh swells pumping in gero ......glassy glassy sup waves last night all surf breakes are going off to day.

Kiters are simply more efficient forms of watercraft. While you poleys are out lining up like school children to catch your waves, us kiters are out saving lives and high fiving over the last dozen waves we just claimed.

Hey DeXtrous, do you know what the stats on deaths associated with both sports, especially in light of your comments that kiters are "more efficient forms of water craft"?

I am only philosophizing here... but it may have a greater correlation with Darwin's theory of evolution as opposed to preferred 'choice' of water craft and it's promoted efficiency.

Are you just trying a wind up or is this a serious comment?
If it is serious and you actually believe it, it is yet another sad indictment on your sport.

I guess you also push in when lining up at the bank, post office, supermarket etc?
If you go to to footy just push in at the start of the line for a beer at the bar?
(Yeah let us know how that goes for you)

I'm serious - society have norms, politness, conventions etc.

What makes you think kiters are so special they should f^&k over everyone else on the water just cos they can?

perhaps we should treat the "line-up" like a traffic "roundabout"...give way to your right and keep the traffic flowing

Its the same as in the lineup when surfing, the pecking order is sorted pretty quick.
The better wave riders get more waves , same as kiters get more waves.

Interesting ,yet,contradictive post.
you say,,,,ghey ghey ghey = kitesurfing
then say WE cant comunicate diplomatically??????lol

And respect,,,,,thats something you must earn, not just think you deserve.

you will know when you get "respect"
that will be when people stop dropping in on you.
