It seems to be the perfect combination of using an SUP board for supping and learning windsurfing or just light wind wave sailing

Nice pics, good job.

I've taught beginners on a SUP, it does a fairly good job indeed.
It's even sailable for the fun of it in moderate winds.

Hi Ive done the same on a JP 9'6 with a kids rig, about 2m with light gear reduced diameter mast and boom etc, works great down wind, BUT tracks sideways with a bit of breeze, I wonder if there is a sup with a dagger board slot, that would be fantastic! and would give the kids the oppotunity to push up wind more. Intrested if you have found the same problem and solved it.

I have a large SUPer 12'6" (given to me), and it has a dagger.
The dagger helps for leeward drift when you teach beginners.

But it doesn't do much to point upwind - rails are just too round.

The SUPer is hhhuuuuugggge, but for teaching it's very stable and gives beginners confidence.

I traded in my JP165lt for a 11'6" sup for that exact reason (and because the xcite was clunky to sup on). After I moved to a smaller w/surfing board, I thought that I could teach the family to w/surf on the JP, but the deck just shredded their knees. 210lts with a small sail - great learning tool!

One of the JP sups has a dagger board, so i suspect it may be a better cross over board.
