I think it was a crab pot at primbee
dale I repair my own boards but I was wondering if someone had some serious damage like this board who would fix it in Sydney or would it be a throw away theres also more damage from other incidences
Shannon at Cajun surfboards at Tarren Point is really good, I've had a few board repaired there and they have been really good, highly recommend :)
That does look serious. Let us know if it can be repaired. Are you sure it was not a shark that bit it!
Does John Hall still do repairs? He's relatively close by.
If you have to pay someone else to repair it, I suspect that the amount of damage versus the age of the board probably means it is a throw away. What year is the board?

Kimba very funny I have those things laying around everywhere im not a lover of sandpaper , 90% of the work I do is scraped, I have more control that way, but those blades are past there use by date
BenKirk ankle and top of foot bloody sore , a few weeks later I fractured a bone in my hand , and last week I stood on a shell and cut my foot :(]
Ot. What are you using for footstraps?
I made them , I don't like regular straps because they sit up to high and I keep knocking them trying to get out of them
I also like to have the screws on the far inside for when i'm jibing, the strap will move with your foot and its easier to get out
they also weigh 40grms wet

Ta
How did you make them?
What did you use to stick the pads on with, and are they rubber or EVA foam?
Cheers
Graeme
I laminate milk bottles and carbon sail cloth then Kevlar underneath and eva yoga mat ,I have always had trouble getting the sailcloth to stick to the eva foam , what I do now is sew the Kevlar underneath so the glue saturates the Kevlar and then glue it on to the eva , the downfall is they aren't adjustable so you need to adjust them in the winter for booties , with the front straps there is only one screw and the back there is two screws
the foam will tend to wear so you need to cut it off and put some new stuff on now and then , other than that they seam to last ok
heres a single back strap for a ca44 I use contact to glue them
I am impressed Keef. Who knew you could buy knead-it in bulk. Did Bunnings give you a decent discount
I bet it gybes really sweetly to the left
There's a shipwright up in Nelson Bay who also does repairs.
His speciality and core business is building and repairing carbon racing sculls so he is very very familiar with carbon and epoxy construction.
He re-built a board I snapped all the way along the bottom and up both rails (just the deck was holding it all together.)
Can't fault the repair and the board is still going strong. the bottom of the board looks brand new (minus the decals/stickers)
I'll dig out his details and post them here if anyone is interested
Is that tape on the rail?
dan if your talking about the bottom pic opposite the mast track , that is a piece of heavy plastic that's glued on to the rail and was there from new , I had to cut it to do the repair thes jp's need some sort of protection because there wood not galss
