Sorry mate, thought I'd answered, apparently not...

March is still good and if you're lucky you might even score a cyclone....

New Cal is a great place for a holiday .
Have been 4 times now 3 times with just wife and me last time was with wife and our two young kids who both want to go back again as soon as !
I cant work out why you would go to Bali but give me New Cal anyday .
Ilse De Pin is magic and a great place to just unwind .
Next time we go will spend do a bit of sailing in Noumea .
Do they run clinics at all ??

Cheers and have a great Chrissy and New Year .

Well i've been in new cal for 2 days now
so far, i can confirm it is beautiful and very relaxing. As yet, i have not witnessed the famous sea breezes but i'm hoping very much that they appear soon. Have you been around shaun ? I've said hi to Laurence on the beach and the hire gear looked great for when the wind arrived. any advice on Mon wind activities or good places to eat would be greatly appreciated. I hope everyone else is getting their windy Christmas!

I look like this :

waiting4wind is here also at the moment, he's been sailing nearly everyday !!

Thanks dartboy, looking forward to meeting you next time. I was actually brought up on Isle of pines (Indeed there are worst places )

Don't be fooled by the wind near the shore. I was thinking the other day it looked marginal, when I spoke to one of the rental guys he said it was 20-25 (the day before yesterday, I'm losing track) out near the island.

I was well powered on a 6m and found the free race board I was using a bit too fast int he chop so jumped on a FSW/ freemove board which was just the ticket.

But yes yesterday and today has been SUP weather!

I'll post some photos if I can work it out on the IFAD!

Lets hope the next few days is on!

Was in New Cal around 8th Nov hired a naish 80 lt with 5.3 for $30 for an hr gear had been thrashed a bit but better than my old gear. Had a great sail 12-1:30 wind was constant 20-25 knots stayed at terra beach hotel got the best deal $1400 return 3 nights with the wife. Wind got stronger as the arvo went on. Should have gone back out but hadn't sailed for a while thought I'd save it for the next day. What do you know???? Didn't happen. Back there next time though. Can't stand the French but god the women are hot. Wee wee

Tera is a nice place to stay, did you get to try their "aquatonic pool", cool stuff !!!
(except they get you to wear a condom on your head, mind you, when I read the stuff above it could suit you...)

You would've paid less at naish, Aloha or sp8ce if I had told them you were coming.....
Next time maybe !
(yes indeed women here are stunning !)

Yep slimmed down! I was actually drinking beer on the balcony, watching, when all this went down.

By the time I got in my 500m walk to the WS gear the wind was a bit average so I went back to the beer!
The pastry shop downstairs is helping matters either. But I'll be in top form for some speed sailing when I get back!

Sean, thanks heaps for the hospitality, advice and introductions to the locals.

Flew back this afternoon on to a nice NE'er at the airport, shame I didn't leave my car and gear at the airport.

Off to celebrate now, happy NY!

not in the correct section (I did post it in the Kite forum), just sharing some awesome footage from New Cal.

And how cool is that beach slide at the beginning !!

Kiteboarding looks a bit more interesting when they show that type of thing..Looks boring just going back and forth on the ones where they pull the line to change direction..

Gents,

Been reading this post with a lot of interest; I moved to Brizzie from the UK about three years ago and have been looking to get back into windsurfing since going over to the dark side a few years ago.

Was surprised that there aren't the kind of resort rental places you seem to get all over Europe in Aus but I guess its down to cost. Then I heard New Cal is only 2 hours away and it looks amazing...
So, the wife and I have just booked our flights to head out boxing day this year (big forward planning) for 10 days - basically got a year to get good again.

Would be great to know if anyone else on the forum is going out again around that time

So on a thread that was started by a guy who lives in New Cal so there is a fair chance he is French, don't know because i haven't actually met him YET, and seems to do nothing but assist Aussie windsurfers, give them advice, answer any questions they have, get them discounts at the local hire places and even hook up for a sail on top of posting videos that are of epic windsurfing spots you post that you "can't stand the French". He probably also does all this with no vested interest financially but just because he seems to be a good bloke and wants to see people to have a good holiday in the place he obviously loves to live.
Maybe you should change your profile name to Bonehead. Possibly it was an attempt at humour but it was not a very well thought out one.

surely the best time to come over !! We've had a 15/20 consistent for the the past month (except during the cyclone)
Get back in touch with me when the time comes !!!

I just returned from Oz yesterday, checked out Surf FX on the goldie, nice shop !! (great catching up with the owners)

No sailing for me this week end as I just broke my little toe (gee it hurts) when I tripped and fell flat on my face. Just waiting for it to "unswell" so I can duct tape it and hit the beach.....

^^^I'm planning a family trip in Oct to Qld & also keen to skip over - October is generally the best time of year in Vic for WSing, what are the conditions over there at that time? Cheers in advance.

Sean

I am loving your advice. Keep it up.

I'm thinking of bringing my wife and two little ones over to new cal. Is there good shopping for my wife?
Also, do you know a link to a website with wind summary month by month?
