I've been windsurfing bout 4 mths,my board and rig work fine for me but I'm thinking of upgrading everything..what would be more important to upgrade the rig or the board?

How about a different size board and sail You want to be able to sail in a wide range on conditions

That gear sounds OK. I agree with Haggar. I'd go for another sail first, to extend my wind range, and if finances permit, another board. What volume is the board you have and how much do you weigh?

I'd recommend keeping what you have. If you want to get planing more often look at getting bigger sails up to around 8m square. Your board should handle bigger sails no worries. You should be able to pick up larger sails that will rig on your mast.

Also consider buying a smaller board if you have the funds. Something like a 120l free ride board.
