Currently in Melbourne with fam on holidays with no gear and it's been blowing in Yeppoon - typical. Maybe only a SE Qld thing.

yeah it is,

it's blowing to the north and blowing to the south. for the last month or 2 SEQ has been in a dead zone.

Bollocks, it's only since xmas that wind has sucked- up until then it was blowing through very consistently with a really good northerly once a week.

For someone that supposedly owns formula gear and can supposedly plane in 6 knots you sure whinge about the wind alot, maybe stop looking at arrows and go down to the bay and enjoy the wind that is actually there

i sold the formula board. and it was 8 knots.

not everyone could make those mid week sails to get that once a week session, those that work get relegated to the weekend and it has been a long long time since that has worked. how many slalom races have run htis season? how many wanderers events have been rescheduled?

i think this lack of wind is making marky a cranky monkey.

I'm saying richard and I sailed most days, but there was a good northerly coming through once a week with a few good southerlies thrown in. For over a month I was either on the 8m/131L or 5.8m/85L. It was odd that there weren't a heap of typical in between 15-18knot days this year.

3 races of good wind.
Race 2 was great wind early then died by time racing started.
2nd last race was called off but I think the day was sailable in the end.
Today called off but I'm sure it will be sailable also.

Racing has a very specific agenda to not waste people's time so they call it off early. It's also not viable to start running races past 4pm which is often when the northerlies start to kick.

Windwanderers not running events nfi? Maybe the models didnt suit

brisbane airport (what we all use as a guide for NE winds) records show the average 3pm wind strength for december was 13 knots. the highest 3pm was 22 knots. the norm was around 10 knots.

november was better but not by much.

www.bom.gov.au/climate/dwo/200911/html/IDCJDW4020.200911.shtml

january is a shocker!

average so far is 10 knots.

but considering it could be the lack of formula board.

Ive get the impression that there are a lot more sailboarders in WA + shops - I suppose thats because they get more consisistent wind?
Ps - you must be going nuts..Thats the problem with seabreeze .. it wouldn t be so bad if you didnt know it was howling somewhere else..
