Running down the bank at 40kts does not always go as planed.
Pic's taken by Haircut on the 29.11.13 at Wellington Point Speed strip.

Top shot's from Justin and bad luck Glynn. Was it the weed that caused spinout which gave you a trip round the front?

Also do you have Gopro footage from your PB the other day?

Cheers
Marty

I think I just got some air around the fin thought I was going to save it but lost it towards the end.
No gopro that day I will have to put it on next epic day at Wello.

Great pics, and the spot looks super, I heard about that place from Brad some weeks ago, seems to be very accessible too. Maybe Brisbane is not so bad after all... I really envy you right now. (We have some snow here).
But I have to say that the sail looks a bit too flat for speed. Do you use more than one spacer on the cambers?

Hi Anders Its been the best season in years here but its still rare for the wind to get over 30knots.
it is nice to have it right on our door step.
Glynns sail does look a bit flat in the photo I normally bag my sails out alot more, are you using SDM or RDM in your Blades.
we should have the new ones here end of the month

Since the Lofts comes from Monty??s brain, I have tested RDM in ALL sail sizes (my longest RDM is 490), but came down with using SDM on the all sizes from 7,8 and upwards. But not been very hard core in the mast recommendations (I always use 490 also in the 9,5-9,6, if it is not very light wind and upwind slalom).
Coming down to RDM or SDM on the smaller sizes.
If the angle is square, 90-100 degrees and very gusty I believe RDM is faster.
But in deeper downwind the SDM is more stable and then I do not downhaul it fully either.
The profile is much better locked with an SDM.
But remember that is for 95kg me, and my style of sailing...
If the rider is 78 kg and are only in for figure 8 slalom it would be different.

Anders, this spot is right at my door step given the tide being right its only a few steps & your sailing from the rigging area but some what crowded with picnickers so parking can be a problem.
Yes I tend to rig flat with always max down-haul this feels comfortable to me I'm as big as you in weight.
I use 2 spaces in the 2 bottom cams 1 in the 3rd on a RDM & love the Loft Race they are such good sails for us.

Congrats on your win also well done.

The new cap is my secret weapon it acts as a extra sail as I see a gust ahead I tilt it to the right angle to catch the wind.

How entertaining. Trust you're good as gold!

I've looked at the pics and found the problem. Pic 4. Windward rail was allowed to lift and coated the windward side of the fin with air. That's a boo boo. Need to lock the feet better mate and trim the board flat at all costs, otherwise the price is well, steep.

Yes I see but not sure if it was foot error or chop or air getting under the nose it was a slight loss of fin traction & I though I was going to save it until the end as I was just slowing down.
Just trying to go too fast I guess or maybe 26cm Falcon is too big a fin for the JP SP50.
No injuries where occurred this time.
