Nobody liked the last one , but here's my first attempt at this challenging new offshoot of the sport.

5 minutes 56 seconds for a seabreeze downwind Nautical Mile, with 2 gybes, beat that!

As we expected putting in the start and finish lines is easy if you race on a North/
South aligned coast. We'll need a programmer if others are interested.

I used GPSresults to clip out the section of interest and saved it as an NMEA file. Found the crossings of 34deg 20' 00" S and 34deg 21'00" S - the green and red lines , subtract the times.

Here's the 2 sections of the file read using the mac's Textedit.

Start line crossing....

$GPRMC,044759.667,A,3419.997664,S,15055.755360,E,6.82,151.14,120910,,*1F
$GPGGA,044800.667,3420.001126,S,15055.758132,E,1,08,1.0,5.3,M,,,,*1D
$GPGSA,A,3,11,14,16,20,23,24,31,32,,,,,0.0,1.0,0.0*37

finish line crossing.....

$GPGGA,045355.647,3421.000444,S,15055.809570,E,1,07,1.8,8.7,M,,,,*13
$GPGSA,A,3,11,16,20,23,24,31,32,,,,,,0.0,1.8,0.0*3A

I just clipped the finish line at the second gybe, I new the finish line was off the Woonona SLSC but overshot by a fair way to make sure. It took about 20 minutes to sail back upwind.
Had a well needed rest then finished the afternoon BAF ing about Sandon Point.
