Yeesssssssss..........well, it looks like the Poms won the first Test in the series.

Unfortunately, it brings back dreadful memories of the Third Test at Headingly in 1961

Just like our weather, it was an unpredictable pitch, but we started well and were in a commanding position.
Then along comes a speedster in Fred Trueman who gets the new ball and takes 5 for 16 in six overs. - and he's not even a real Pom - he's a Yorkshireman

Australia held them to a reasonable score (although R Benaud got carted about the park)

We batted well next until that pesky Trueman took five wickets without conceding a run and win the Test in 3 days.
He also bowled R Benaud for a duck in both innings.

I almost took up kiting windsurfing at this point

Not really the season for Burrum Heads, mate.
Defintely a late summer/autumn spot, for the big SE blows.
Probably sailable in a spring northerly, but not going to produce great speeds.

KenHo,were do get your information from. BUT early sping to Novemer is the best time to sail Burrum Heads it blows 3 to 4 days aweek over 20 knots from the north great for speed sailing. We have a house right on the beach ,and have been sailing there for 8 years, also its great for bump and jump with waves and chop around 1meter plus,so get your facts right mate

Good. I'm glad to hear that.
I lived at Bundaberg forever, so I'm extrapolating from that. While we got a lot of northerlies in spring, I did not think that would translate to great speed conditions for Burrum, compared to the 30kt+ SE conditions in autumn.
I expect good B&J on spring northerlies, but that's not the same as speed.
No need for the aggression either.

Please Note; Great Britain's score has gone down due to a change in the post of Alpha Scores & 2 more PB's were found with the Value of 0.

If you add all the pb's from Australia that would consist of more than 5 teams in a month Isaak and if you take note we only have 5 teams in the whole of the UK.

This is the reason its circulated to try and make it fair.

True it is fair to have the scoring the way it is now. I think what Izaak is getting at is the GPSTC has been going for a while in Australia and most Aussies have been doing it for a couple of years or more. So its harder for us to get PBs.

However if we have another series next year then it should even out. Perhaps by then there will be more British teams so we can include more Aussie teams each month.

Yessss. You see Mr Swagger, here we have the the impatience of youff - a very keen & quick young speedster keen to get back into the game.

But, as you pointed out, it's not his turn with the ball ( or bat) .

The pitch has been playing into the Pommies favour - & they could very well
go 2 tests up in the series

Looks like its game over swags, not even put me pads on yet, let alone touched the crease. The Aussies look to have run themselves out again..... and without a decent wicket to bat on for the foreseeable future ... series 3 looks easy pickings.

OPH & Swagger,

The Yanks thought they had the America's Cup Won in 1983 with 3 races to go!
Look what Happened!!!!!!!!! KA6 Australia ll won the cup.
I think this series will be the same.
October will be an even wicket.

Keep your Pads & Bats close by. You will need them from now on.

them's fighting words mate!

I'll be looking to beat my distance PB this month... And with my trusty partner Lao Shi backing up it's time to be afraid. Be very afraid

Isn't there talk about limiting the time for Aussies to sail in summer? Something like only counting time between 6am and 8.30am so its fair for the Brits?

Is this sort of like the Top Gear Ashes? Cheating is all fair as long as the poms win.

I hope the poms have saved a few pbs for this month[}:)]

The baggy greens are getting dusted off and it's time to play!
