I like the way your thinking, and your enthusiasm for the sport, keep it going and study hard, it's a great sport to take you and your friends through life. Anyway you get to ride up front at Luderitz mate on AMAC's (Ka) M'41 that I have borrowed for the event, but don't tell him I wrote on his board ok. As they say every little bit helps, and thanks again to anyone who has rallied behind any of us Aussies headed to Luderitz.
Congratulations also on your PB Alex, 30 will come and is a great milestone for any windsurfer to reach. 56 knots hey, faster than A2, well that would be something to talk about at school!. A2 is in fine form as one would expect having taken another PWA title, and then there is Dunky' who's yet to really fire at Ludz', Anders and the others who did well there last year will definitely make it a challenge for us Aussie underdogs.
It should be a great battle anyway and lots of fun, with the aim for all of us to return safely with some PB's first up. Finishing near the top of the field for all the Aussies attending would be superb. The rest we will see what we can do, with most of us pushing around 100kg we hope not to get totally blown away.

That is such an honour. Mum was so touched she was in tears. 
I reckon, if anyone can do it (faster than A2), it's going to be YOU! I will try to achieve my goal (28+ knots) and you can double me! You will be riding up front with me too.

This old gun didn't go too bad Russ!
Oh... you mean the boards..... 
Actually, I think they would do very well. The small boards Patrik has here are quite narrow in the tail. If they had a modern fin I think to old guns would be very close behind, but they would be a real problem to start in this fluky, gusty wind in the canal.
I was thinking I might need a smaller board and tried to get a Mistral 37 for the trip but it didn't come off. Now I am not so sure. The CA40 has a bit more volume and length and is a lot easier to water start than some of the submarines I see here. It is a big advantage to get going quickly to take the bend at speed. In fact for me it is essential so I don't get slammed when I turn downwind. The CA 40 is doing that very well for me. It is still sitting on the water very well and stable at just over 47 knots so I am really happy with it. Not sure if I can crack a 50 kts peak but I recon the board will take it if I can.
Looks like 2 days off now before another round of multiples windy days.
PS. Watch this young Frenchman, Gautier Bourgeois. Today he just smashed it and his is slightly lighter than me (but a little taller) . He is for sure the fastest small guy in the world!
At 75kgs, that guy is blazing down the course! I'm curious if anyone going to luderitz is under 65kg.

I've been a FB friend with Gautier over 3 years now both being on Loft sails in the past and it's been very interesting watching the young fellas progress can remember the first time he cracked a 40knts 2 sec peak he's homespot cops some very strong winds so he does get to sail in those type of conditions a bit. video of his home spot in France.

I was priviaged to use a Prototype Twin GPS, 10hz GPS logger that Manfred Fuchs has made. Here is a screen shot from it. The results was near identical to the Camera Timing system for 500m.

I did, but not quite as much as it looks. The GPS 500m goes into the finish box a bit.
I will try to figure out how to put the Gate positions in GPS-Results for comparison.
On my Sunday run, which was much faster, I got up to speed much earlier as well.

My thoughts exactly when I saw a video of Andrew
I cant remember any powered up run where I backed of before I was in the finish box. I recon that one was one of the really slow runs at the end where I was really underpowered at the end. Just sailed into a complete hole and had to stand up because of it.
