just watch the synoptic charts. when the high is in the bight and the iso's are close together its all systems go.
Look out Gaz and Rossco - booked in for Friday, Sat and Sunday nights.
PS - what's the BYO alcohol policy for GI?
Okay - now that I'm coming I have a bit of a dilemma deciding which two boards to bring (options are iS 122, 101 & 76). Having a look at the forecast I was thinking my iS101 & iS76 with sails from 7.5 down but any advice from someone with local knowledge would assist. It is still looking good for Sat and Sunday but has ever so slightly decreased from yesterday's forecast.
Good luck guys and gals - hope you get some great conditions and lots of PBs.
Will miss you all and of course that tropical island, sigh.
Jodi :)
Not a lot of wind today but
good looking forecast for the rest of the event ...
Just got back from a quick trolling session on Arlington -boys landed a nice Gold Spot Trevally & small cuda.
Some fast boys from Melbourne are here so it should be fun when the wind kicks in ...
Hi Jodi-thanks for the post ...Great article !!!=well done on the coverage .
GISW Day 2.
Steady 18-20 knots,2-3 hrs of sunshine ,an operational Northern Run followed by a late session on the Eastern Run made for a great day on the Island.
Best times were in the 33-35 knot range with 2sec PBs being recorded by some of the competitors .
Tomorrow looks better again so expect more smiling faces -especially from the Melbourne Boys who had a ball today .
Sail sizes varied from 4.9-8.6.
Board sizes from 83 l -110l
Awesome Cam, I'll be there tomorrow with some more crew, I'm excited
So who knocked over Troppo after he had to catch the boat
Sweet pics! Troppo the yellow sail and board look great pity about those bloody rough looking sail numbers Cam your sail needs more downhaul
BUgger !!
I'm sitting on my duff at Mareeba today and all I can think is that with a bit more effort, I could have been at GI today. On call tonight and tomorrow, so I don't like my chances of changing that.
What time do the ferries run ?
