Just broke 30kts and someone suggested I take a photo but how do I get into the GPS to do that?
I've come home and uploaded things but haven't deleted any thing although the thing has been playing up and has created a few files of the trip home etc since.

Well done Sboardcrazy!

If you use speed genie.

Go to Speed menu.
Toggle to Max speed.
Press in the big button
Toggle to restore
Press in the button
Toggle to the speed you want
Press the big button.

Your speed should now be on the display.

Woohoo!
30.41 is your 2 sec average speed which will be slightly lower than your 1sec max speed on the display. Can be as much as 0.5 knot if your peak speed was really brief.

Peel St Budgewoi lake. If you are going to get a PB that's the place to be!

20-25kts NE Peel st Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU Yay I broke 30kts 1st time! 30.67 on the GPS.. 4.8m Hucker , 78ltre tabou pocket wave + 23 cms makani weedie Got there and Pete went out as a guinea pig with his 6.5m sail + 100 ltre board. Came straight in as too overpowered. Lucky he was theree as i was going to rig my 6.6m + 115ltre.. Rigged the 4.8m . well and trully overpowered going upwind but found out later that I ahd nowhere near enough downhaul on and the outhaul kept slipping so the sail was too full for the conditions. Came in after a while and fixed the downhaul etc hoping to go out and break 31kts..Only got one run or two runs and then it really kicked in so i came in and put the 4.2m on. Boy it's a pain getting in and out there Hoping to get better speeds .I was pretty powered up with that combo in the gusts but the chop had built up and I wasn't going as far into the shallows and flat as everyone else as I had a 23cms fin on and i knew they had 18cms.. Mick said i would have been ok so I'll go further in next time. It was getting choppy where I was doing my runs and there was only a short flat bit.Got another 30.03 earlier. Arms aching and a headache and I didn't seem to be getting any better so I came in. My internet has been out the last few days so i didn't know the freerace was on at Coal. Still I wanted to crack 30kts and I think I would have found Coal pretty challenging in those winds. I need to get myself a 60/65 ltre board for those days. Ok now to aim for 32kts with a 20 alpha.. Bet there were some good speeds today. Big crowd out.

well done Sue especially on a wave board:)

The pocket is great board but is still slow compared to a similar size slalom.
When i was in maui i rode them for about 2 weeks straight and almost never got it above 30 knots !

On a related tack..... I am pretty sure there is a way to take a screen shot of any GT-31 (or GT-11) display. This is what is used in Manuals and reviews. I even think I have done it in the past a long time ago, but I can't seem to find any reference to the method. Does anyone remember?

Yes. Super flat water really helps..
What's the best speed anyone had got on their wavekit? 35 - 36? Just wondering what sort of speed they can get. I don't think I'll ever outgrow mine- it can probably go faster than me.

I have peaked just over 40 Knots on my SB Acid 74 with stock fin and 3.7m KA Kaos way back in............ well, I while back.

Spotty has done even better on his wave board with 5.3m KA Koyote!

Mine was on an absolutely howling Easterly at Sandy. Gusting around 35 knots. It was a matter of just pointing it downwind and hanging on for the ride. very exciting. I don't think we have had an Easterly that wild again for years!

A small pinny, single fin waveboard can be very fast once its right up on its small narrow tail. It has a similar tail shape and whetted area as many speed boards. A small light powerful sail helps as it does not push the nose of the board down too much. It might be a bit of a struggle to get the board up that high and light with a normal speed/slalom sail.

My 31kn 2 sec PB was done on FSW gear. Not wave gear but definitely not speed gear.

Is that why I get robbed .5 a knot all the time. I thought Kelly got Dylan to build in a special rob Ulf of 0.5 knots bit of code , so she could get the ball off him him again this month
