Inverloch and Anderson inlet has all the makings of a classic windsurfing venue. The waters of Anderson Inlet can provide fantastic bump'n'jump, freeride blasting and speed sailing, depending on a variety of weather and tidal conditions. The surf beach and mouth of the inlet offers some great intermediate wave sailing opportunities as well. There are a range of accommodation packages available.
The NOR will be up on the Inverloch Windsurfing Club Site soon
If you're keen please drop an email president@inverlochwindsurf.org.au to register for the event
Info is up on the website, the Notice of Race & Event Guide can be downloaded from this page:

Early forecast looks perfect for sailing the new run up along near the entrance which now cuts into the old main channel. See Daz, Wendy and my session Southerly Buster on GPSTC from Sunday or here for google overlay: ka72.com/viewge.aspx?fid=51995&tid=0 Disregard what the sand bars look like on Google Earth. Inlet formation has completely changed since this image.
I'm glad you're positive about the wind this weekend - doesn't look too flash on my forecast:
Would love to be there though, sounds like a great weekend!
Caution. This situation is one of those where single model based forecasts can be very misleading. Yesterday, I checked 5 different "weather models". These are supercomputer based programs that are used to predict weather systems using data on the current and past situation. All 5 models predicted a different situation for the weekend. Some were very different. A difference of up to 180 degrees on the wind direction!
The situation has changed a bit by today and usually the model predictions get more alike as the time gets closer. But they can still differ a lot even a day or two out.
Windguru (wich is the one above) is based on the GFS model. It was very different from some of the others last night. It's worth looking at the others if you are able. (Weatherzone Pro gives me access to the models I am referring to.)
On the other side, if all the main models line up and predict the same thing, you can have a lot more confidence in the forecasts.
I just checked them all again and they do seem to have lined up a bit better. Looks like light to moderate south to south easterlies. It could be different by tomorrow though.....
Good news, 3 of the VSS team will be sailing the weekend and attending Saturday nights dinner and regaling us with tales and photo's from Luderitz. Here's your chance to sail with and pick the brains of some world class sailors.
7.30 at the Inlet Hotel Inverloch. PM me know if your coming.
well done we went and had a look at Inverlock when we recently went down to Sandy Point and looks great for long speed runs.
Well done for organising it Hope you have a great fun weekend.
Three of 4 models now show moderate south west to southerly Saturday arvo. The other one shows zip, zilch, nada!
It's still one of those 'we will know when it happens' forecasts!
The suspense is incredibly exciting! It's worth driving hundreds of Kays just to see what really happens! I am sure there will be all sorts of thrills and spills...at least in the bar that night!
Great News
No I'm not giving a wind warrantee
The wind will be what ever it is (Bring large board and sail....OD,SUP )
RPS and The ZU have contributed to our prize chest, a big thanks to Adrian and Paul
The VSS guys are already to do battle with us on the water of Inverloch so here's your chance to compete against the Australian recorder of the 500m and perhaps beat him . Who cares if the wind was only 8kts and the sailing was done on a SUP, its first across the line that counts
Game starts at 10.00 Inverloch Angling club
