GPS Display Maximum Speed: 22.84

Conditions: Very light 10 - 13 with the occasional gust but very cold

Where you sailed (Code ok for secret spots): Williamstown

Equipment: Started on 95 Sonic but ended up on 155 GO with 6.5 Severne NCX

Details about Self: Very keen with a long way to go

Comments: Great to sail new area and get a few gusts late in the day.


The cold wouldnt have been so bad if there was a little more wind. Marcus, Geoff and Brett all wondering what they have to do to catch the GO

Comments: Crasher came out of his shell on this day!

Comments: Bloody hell it was gusty as all crap down there today

Date: 5th of July, 2008

Gps max speed display: 21.018 (2 second peak - GPS display was wrong)

Conditions: 5 knots, gusting 10. Preety flat due to having no wind

Where: Boggy Lake 2, SA

Equipment: Naish Supercross 114L with 7.8 KA Kontrol (rigged big for crappy conditions).

Self: About 65kg, around 6ft. Going slow as have recently come out of heart surgery - first session back since.

Comments: Got FAR more than my fair share of catapults, but still extremely pleased with the day after a fortnight of NO windsurfing.

i would love to enter this competion, so do you think you guys & girls from all the other states could stop using up all the bloody wind before it gets to nsw [sydney ] so we can at least enter . thanks. PS . all wind donations greatly accepted .

Conditions:ice cold southerly about 25-32kts not too bad chop.

Where you sailed: Australind estuary

Equipment:88litre Mistral electron 4.7 NP combat

Details about Self:19 yrs old , sailing 18 months, poor apprentice mechanic

Comments:as the tide got lower and lower the water got smoother so i was able to go for some good runs , sailed a total of 109.8 kms that day , also a PB

Details about Self: 39yrs old, sailing for 25 years, GPSing for 12 months.

Comments: Late arvo blast at Melville, some nice gusts up to 25K, but rather choppy.

Where you sailed: Hardies stunt sailor training run

Equipment: NP RS4 6.2m Mistral Flow 276, JP Freeride weed 31cm, JP Slalom Pro II 84L, 'ken-Elmo 40º 24cm.

Details about Self: To old, to fat, to slow.

Comments: Awesome frontal survival sail, managed to get away unscathed, 6.2m just a touch to large for the conditions, need to invest in something a bit smaller
Respect to all those who braved the conditions.

Comments:On the water by 6.45am for a quick pre work sesh. After the first two runs in the knee+ high chop and breaking waves i decided it was too dangerous.
