Maui Vmax Speed Ladder Update.

Last week saw Maui's summer trades finnaly show up at full strength. There has been a lot of activity and a few changes on the Speed Ladder. Peter Bijl posted the first 38 of the summer last Wednesday which placed him second on the ladder. This was not to last as Eric Beale surpassed this on Friday with a 38.1 knot Run. Not to be outdone Alex Augera sailed like a man on a mission Saturday to post a 38.7 knot 100m. This is just 1/10th of a knot short of the years fastest of 38.8 which has held since April 13th back in the windy spring. There are now four sailors in the 38s and it can't be long before the speeds are pushed up into the 39s or higher. All involved are confidently hoping for a magic 40+ knot run that will beat Anders Bringdal's 40.2 knots from last year!

Eric Beale thought he had it on Saturday, only to find the data logger had accidentally been turned off and his runs were not recorded. Not to be detered he went back out on Sunday and in slightly less wind posted 7 runs in the 37s and topped it off with a 38.5 putting him just behind Alex.
