Had a huge suprise when I had a parcel turn up and inside was a 21 45degree weedy that Decrepit made for me.
THANKS MATE totally unexpected and awsome of you. good bunch you Wa mob.
had some slotbox fins my boy found in a box in the back shed of the surf shop he works at, anyway they got donated to me they where all pretty average exept for this one carbon Torquay pointer so i chucked it in the trailor to donate to someone who had the skills to rebox it, never expected it back Mike thanks again.
really is a great gps comunity we have.
Hopefully try it out tommorrow in my xs missile.

Nice job Decrep'.
Nice turf farm Jimbob!
Let us know how it works. I have a few old Torquay pointers around as well that might be worth re-boxing if yours works well.
nice fin jimbob but just wont cut the mustard compared to the real deal the 1st thing you notice is the weight 258grams ,
2nd the stiffness for such a light fin
3rd is the strait leading edge and consistent foil
4th how wide the fin is at the base per length
5th the con caved trailing edge gives the fin a more lively feel for surface area
and finally the Finnish is superb ,i hope that everyone that has one of these fins appreciates the craftsmanship, time and skill and effort that it takes to make
PS mike sorry for nick-in your last two barrel nuts
drool jimbob
Decrepit... you'd the Man
nice gesture to a guy (Jimbob) who puts a lot back in the windsurfing community as well !!
People like you two (and a lot of others) make this sport a lot more fun !
Glad to know you both
and a lot of "others"
Jimbob, that fin looks real fine....maybe you could lend it to me for a while, and I will evaluate it on Tinaroo...
In other news, my foot is just about ready...not so sure about the wind.
JimBob, glad you like it, hope it goes well!
Looks like it fits in the box fine, I adjusted it to fit a newish Chinook box, doesn't always mean it's going to fit in anything else!
Keef, the little brother to your fin, (I made it at the same time I made yours) is now my PB fin, worked great in the weed at Lilacs, but it's possible a shorter more raked fin, like the ones you're making, would be better. Probably my next project, the weed there is coarser than Lake George and more abrasive and I think it slows you down a bit more
mike the wider based carbon weedies are the way to go, mudskipper from our team was running a 7.5 race sail with a 21 weedy in good size chop(33nts in the weed) , admittedly the board was a smaller old style pin tail , the fin works fine in chop as long as there is pressure, but off the wind they are a bit loose and can let go
ive just finished modifying an old slalom to a speed so maybe ill do a post on the procedure on both the board and the fin,
first run on the Decrepit weedy yesterday, a very happy jimbob,
conditions where out of my league and out off control with gusts going to 45 and water getting heaved into the air, only got 2 runs both in the 41's before my carbon boom exploded, fin was solid as, on both runs i was just surviving sheeting out and standing up crapping myself and had some wild pull ups at the end but fin didn't flinch once and I certinally wasn't kind to it being so erratic on the back foot, had more speed in it but i didn't have the balls to do it,
this will now be my go to fin in the xs missile next summer and hope to get to my new target of 44.
thanks heaps Mike for a fantastic job..
