Testing is complete. 42 is a rocket. Last 4 runs at SP I had the fin sorted out, and despite the wind dropping had a string of easy 47 max with 45-46kt/500s. Its got way more to go. The sticker on the front is a bit of a giveaway of what is in the pipeline. Soon... For reference the tail is practically the same as my old CA40 design. Difference is in the rest of the board which makes it a heap easier to sail and way more stable/comfortable in crazy wind/ocean chop.

Although not 50 or even 40 knots in a straight line, I see Benny Newson (Troppo) has just done a 25.49 Alpha on his Chris Lockwood designed 47 Nude. I'm a Alpha wanabe but I think that's bloody good going on a speed board

Good man! No such thing as too many boards.
I thought I was bad with 14 but I've got nothing on this guy.
Good to be able to show the wife somebody who has the disease even worse.

The board is there to take for a spin if you're keen but unless Lake Illawarra runs a day care facitility and I can get over my fear of not walking again I'm land locked.

As for the base of the board if I go to Sandy Pt I'd personally be wet and drying it but whether it makes a difference or not I'll never know.

Sam.

The latest boards are stronger and lighter than before. I have 3 of them.

I'd say we all get a little concerned sailing in shallow water, but in Lake Illawarra's defence the depth is predictable. With a little bit of familiarity you won't get taken by surprise.

So a good couple of questions are:

How much water do you need for the bottom not to add further to the crash consequences?

How much more (or less) dangerous is crashing in ankle deep water than crashing from a push bike?

I vaguely recall reading about someone getting seriously injured hitting a sandbank. I've also seen 3 really fast crashes in unexpectedly shallow water at Sandy Point without serious injury. Not statistically significant I know.

I've made a bit of an arbitrary call on 500mm, knee deep, being deep enough that you won't complicate the crash by hitting the bottom.

Hi slowy I just said that when it was still owned by a German company-correct me if am wrong..even the mast track was cleverly designed to fit two types of mast foots and I practically progressed on them. Am envy of you. I only have just one left even if a bit delamed on the back straps a mistral custom 266 after the equipe down to the energy and would never thrash it might even frame it
