Back in the 90's I remember guys talking about sailing at Raymond Terrace NSW on the river in a westerly, apparently it was great.
Have never sailed it but have always thought it had some serious potential.
Managed to get some decent photo's of the potential runs and think it might just be worth a shot next decent W - NW.

Hey I used to do sailing on the dam for school sport up to the late ninties. I wonder if the schools still use it for sport.
I remember it being realy cold, steamers in summer & the chop is not small. they used to be open for 3months
over summer & plenty of people go fishing there.
there is another lake a bit further west that is sailable if the algie level is low enough, fresh water to.
I would be keen to try the terrace, just may need a boat to check the run for dead cows, tree's or locals after a big night,

checked it out today, there is no way of getting in the water from the terrace side, its like nobbys breakwall
from the bridge way past the pub on the corner near the river.
Could access from other side of river just have to work out who's gate is on left just after going over the bridge &
see if we could use it. were the 2 arms meet there is signs on the bank that's were it looks like you could launch from
& once out there, there is clear banks to stop on, on the northern side, not the terrace side.
hi russ, thanks for checking it out. Isn't there a boat ramp about 50m south of the pub? or has it been taken out?
would have been nice there today it was very windy at Marmong blowing 30 knots but lumpy as hell and VERY gusty. I am keen to try the river.
Hey james, there is steps that go down to the waters edge in the park just down from the pub, about were you said but it could still
be all rocky, you carnt see into the water at all. there is a boat ramp at the far end of the park, southern end. it still has
the big rocks on either side of the ramp & some old boats in a small boat yard. it will be a spot that needs shoes or booties.
a 3m x 3m something that floats & you could walk on would fix the lauching problem. I got some video of the river from the bridge
& from opposite were you would sail. nice rigging area plenty of grass.
