What booms are mostly used at our place ? Please recomend me what is the best booms for speedsailing, using with like smaller sails, around 5-6m2.
I am interested in boom like 160-220, for use on like vapor 6.0
What brands is mostly used in AU, or NL - what is your suggestions?

Hi Warrior your a pretty light guy at around 65kgs so most Al booms should be ok especialy if you only using it with a 6.0.
Carbon is the bees knees but depends on ya budget.
Ive had the Loft carbon for over 2 years, that is the longest Ive had a boom for.

Both the Maui Sails booms at my local have broken adjuster pins but maybe they don't make them like that any more. idk.
^ all booms i know of, no matter what brand, that use those adaptor pins have the pins break.
they are cheap and easy to replace though.

I use so far The Loft Slalom (175) and this boom is full OK with both of my Loft sails (7.4 and 5.9). For my 5.0 I use so far Prolimit pro 160 (my 5.0 is 167 on boom).
I was just thinking about lighter boom, maybe wider in the back, I will try to check The Loft or maybe Technolimits.....
so, I guess, The Loft Standard Slalom is most ideal boom for me at this point of my knowledge, right?
It's not very weight and is monocoque builded, but standard shape (which I like the most, not new round ones). Very strong and not heavy boom. Will be OK for me...

Second idea is to see what you prefered to ride here in AU, and what is favorite booms of NL crue. That is what I am interest to read
Here in CRO most of crue have NP mostly x6, x3, Technolimits, Prolimit, RRD and Gaastra or Simmer booms, and some of crue ride North booms (very good but expensive booms). Not so many full carbon riders, maybe few one who is using it for slalom events (official in cro)
Since you are in Qld. have a look at Sunshine Alloy for that size and your weight. Can by half a dozen for the price of a carbon boom and in the smaller sizes below 6m they are fine for stiffness. Front end is the best in the business, fits SDM and RDM equally well with no shim and is used by other brands. Get the normal, wider one not the new Mono something. Avoid narrow booms for slalom and speed. Some NP carbons I have seen are a bit too narrow IMHO.
IRL250, sounds like you have more a problem with the shop you bought it from than the boom itself.
All manufacturers have a small percentage of their products that sneak through testing and end up on the market.
I know that with the shop I deal with in Perth, with a boom that did that, it would be replaced without question.

I have a couple of X9's, all are at least 5 seasons old and still going strong.
I reckon they are a great boom.

Dont bother with Ali booms if you want to use them for longer than a couple of seasons. I persisted for a while and then turned to the carbon booms after my Ali ones kept snapping. All of mine (3 off) are second hand and cost between $300 and $500 bucks. All of them over over 3 years old one is approx 6). The best i have is the 160-210 Areon Carbon. It is so nice to use. pretty heavy though

Best boom of under $500 I think. Depends on how much money you have to spend!

all of my booms are carbon KA booms both wave and race. i run my wave boom on full extension and have never broken it. had them for 3-4 years now. (maybe even 5). love them and never had a problem.
they have the 2 pin clip system so only thing i have done is replace the clips every couple of years. talking to other people that have them they wash their gear and have not needed to replace the clips.
amac one told me that each boom is tested by the ka guys prior to sale also.
what happened to your Pryde boom haggar? or are you just after another boom.
You gotta have two booms really so you can have two rigs setup
