good to see the final list.
the top 4 were so close.
congrats guys,
what gear was everyone on.
i know vando uses starboard and loft sails
and chris is CA and KA
Cool, Thanks to Al and all the sponsors. Only got down for one day but thoroughly enjoyed it.
I broke a harness line the other week so it,s just what I needed.
Cheers Martin
Thanks everyone involved for making it another great gathering.
Glad I made it for a couple of days. It was well worth it to catch up with the crew.
One thing that struck me was the general improvement in speeds given the conditions werent ideal. It was great to see everyone having a go in the relatively tricky conditions on Tuesday when the rolling chop usually puts people off doing long runs.
So thanks again Al and Matt, Tom and other sponsors, and all the other guys who helped out and/or made the effort to come down.
We are lucky to have a place like Sandy Pt!
What a week!!!
that was so much fun, met heaps of cool people and had some great sailing.
Obviously wasnt epic but blasting down that bank and experiencing the pure thrill of bearing off down the strip was so cool. The NSW guys had a ball. You get to see the big boys, hang out and learn so much and get new bests was sweet.
A big thanks to Al, Matthew and everyone else involved for the organization etc.
Plus a couple of the boys did very well indeed!!!
and my apologies to the Sandy Point council garbage collectors who are having to cope with 2 and a half recycling bins full of empty beer bottles courtesy of the Sam Parker speed team house
And for all you sports fans, footage courtesy of Dave Flanagan, editing by Adam Craven. Thanx for the good times boys. Will post my stills on my web site when i get a chance to edit and process in the next wk or so. cheers till then.
Indeed a great fortnight - had an absolute blast. Great to meet all the lads, top guys who are v passionate about speed sailing. Thanks for supporting me and teaching me heaps. Many thanks also to Al and Mathew for all their work and support.
DVD will be out in next week or so, just sifting through 1000+ pics and still extracting sand out from my equipment. Will also post more pics on web soon.
Amazing photos Adam. Some of the best windsurfing photos I can remember seeing. Colour and definition made it seem like we were on some tropical paradise if you could ignore the 5mm steamers.
Loved the expression on the sailors faces. Must remember to smile more next time.
Yep sorry guys, as WnS said, password; sandy.(Thanx Sam) And just having spoken to Andrew Duff, I mentioned to him that I am happy for folks to use these images for what ever. If they are being used commercially however, I'd appreciate if they could be credited Adam Craven. Did them for a bit of fun, but always up for any commissioned work if someone was interested out there in the future, of course. Gotta eat/buy more gear! Will post another site in next day or so with link to high-res down load page. cheers
Hi Adam, Nice shots , really shows off what a special place the PIT is.
There are a few shots of Daffy on the 09 KA Koncept proto. I would love to get them on the KA website if thats OK by you. I can guarranty a nice big plug!!!
Seeya Martin
I have to comment on the 'final proto' 09 Koncept I was using at this event.
The first time we set it it just looked right without any fiddling around. It really does have to best characteristics of all the Koncepts to date and rigs perfectly straight from the bag on a 4m RDM with a deep powerful profile down low and a lovely even, progressive twist up top. The leading edge has clean, slippery entry and the sail feels beautifully light and balanced in the hands. Even though I was quite underpowered for most of the Tuesday I was surprised that I still found it faster than my '07 5.8 (which I have had quite a long time to get tuned and is another sail I particularly like). I can't wait for a real blow where I can get it fully powered up. I recon there is a new PB just begging to be unleashed. I just wish I had the '09 5.8 version on this day.
A big thanks to Adam Craven for these shots!
Hey Martin, yeah no worries, go for it. Love to see them up there. Let me know if they're used. Thanx for the compliments all
I reckon that even if you didn't see the results at the top, you would know who was the fastest just from looking at the photos. The excellent techniques of Sam, Chris L and Dan are very obvious.
It's kinda hard to nail down a description of exactly what it is, but it's easy to see.
