Well done guys. I heard the change come through about 5.30 this morning and saw quite a few trees down on my way to work so I knew it would have been great down your side of the bay.

A few of us are going to try to get out tomorrow on the Barwon to catch the tail end. Unfortunately the forecast is only 20 - 25 so it wont be quite as epic lol.

Well, it wasn't quite as good as it may sound. It was really hard work to find the small swings for a sailable angle. If it hadn't been for that one squall I think it would have been pretty ordinary. But that squall!! WOW!

BTW. I got a little bit of video from my car just before I went out at about 9.30am. It was one of the few times during the day when I saw someone sailing back but even in the brief video you can see that when Martin tries a run almost immediately, it is again too broad. Uploading as I type. Should be on soon....

I got Alister to shoot some video,we missed the big squalls so it looks really sunny and warm for Vic Enjoy.

Notice Craig makes it back but you can actually see Anthony getting knocked as the wind swings back west.

That was my first run for the day. Overpowered and way broad, why I cut the run so short. 41.5 2 second.

Although I have had a 2009 4.4m Koncept now for over 6 months and have rigged it numerous times I had only had a chance to sail it once before now in slightly underpowered conditions. Yesterday we finally had a forecast for proper 4.4m winds (35-45 knots) and I rigged my favorite '07 4.4m and the new '09 4.4m hoping to get some direct comparison. I was not disappointed. The wind angle was not great but the strength was certainly there.
Alternate runs on the two sails proved to me beyond doubt that the '09 4.4m Koncept is a superior sail. The same power and speed and are there but with an improved smoothness and lightness of feeling and control. The same qualities of effortless performance that have made the '09 5.0m Koncept my favorite, and fastest, Speed Sailing and Alpha Racing sail. I love it!
