After watching the pro's do their downwind suicide runs in Maui's chop I have huge respect for them.
Seeing guys like McGain, Aguera, Bringdahl etc go that fast is unbelievable.
Its like the wind swell with chop on top is not even there.
Its good fun on a waveboard though

Who do you reckon that is in the shot? It looks remarkably like the greatest windsurfer of all time, and if it is, he doesn't look too comfortable at all.

I can confirm he was there on the day this shot was taken (got it from the gallery on www.mauispeed.com)

Makes it look even more daunting for us mere mortals.

Looks just like Pinnaroo on a quiet day [}:)]
Just a mere ripple on the surface

Why is the water white like that? I don't remember seeing that.

I had a look at the site. They seem to top out at about 30 knots on wave gear though in those conditions I can't imagine using anything but wave gear.

As you can see below, he is dead keen. Hoping to get half a decent Alpha out of him at some stage.

With a chest like that I reckon he could crush a crab just by twitching his left nipple!

Not serious enough for GTC they are all wearing waist belts
How you going to get some extra kg's with a good breeze in the making, with one of those strapped on Although chubby cheeks in the middle doesnt look like he would use any extra weight[}:)]
Wonder if he wants to join Pinnas reckon we could straighten him up a bit with some hard work tuition from Lao Shi

You're spot on Gestalt; when asked whether he would like the opportunity to join the ranks of the Swan River Mob, his response was immediately "F*** yeah!"

...and he didn't even mind when I said he would have to change his sail number coz it's a bit too close to mine.

I didn't want people thinking he was me as our styles are very similar, although people tell me I tend to plane out of my one-handed double forwards with a little more panache on my speed gear.
