Mark ( Lau-Shi) at Speed
WARNING!
No PB is worth a life as a quadraplegic or no life at all.
In WA in search of flat water and new PBs, sailors are now sailing in very shallow water which has recently been exacerbated by extreme low tides.
Do not sail at speed in water if you are not certain there is sufficient clearance for your fin or if there is a possibility of hitting projections (rocks etc).

Pt Walter was about as good as it has ever been and a handfull of guys were making the most of it. PBs a plenty. Those further south had to work harder on the choppy estuary but the wind made up for the lumps enough for some hardie souls to get PBs.

I don't wish to take anything away from Mark's fantastic result. But I notice that only includes 2 readings?
I thought most people were using the trapezoidal calculation method, using 3 readings.
Realspeed does this by default, but gpsarpro and gpsresults need to be set.
Just checked Mark's post, and it shows 42.74kn, so he's probably used realspeed, to get the trapezoidal result.
So I guess that was a 43.13 on the dial!!!!

Is it windy?
Mike you are right. The GPS-Results image I posted before gives 1 sec and calls it 2 sec. This is because of the old trackpoint scoring. But you will notice that Mark's speed on the WA Speed Table is 42.74 and not the 43.221 that gps-Results gives.
But thanks for the info on how to adjust it.. I hadn't used GPS-Results for a long time ..I thought it would make a nicer image than RealSpeed.
Here is the modified image. I also added a couple of Slowboat. You will notice that his top 2 sec WAS NOT his fastest (45kn) run. It's a bit unusual when your fastest 1sec is not the same run as your fastest 2 sec but I guess that can happen when you can do 45kn (or close) more than once.
You will also note that according to Gps-results Slowies speed was 44.67 not the posted 44.77. I will check on RealSpeed and if it also gives this I will drop it 0.1kn on next table update.
I like the last pic lao... shows how perfectly straight the bar is and how low the dunes/grass is! No wonder the wind is so steady. 
I spent a lot of time on Sat waiting for enough wind to get planing on a 6.2m/SP53 despite the gusts hitting 35kts or more. The wind is strongest just before and sometimes just after the flat water behind the bar. Sometimes you can get lucky with a bullet that sneaks down over the sand/grass that lasts about half a second. Very rarely does it last more than 2 or 3 seconds, with 8-15kts either side of it. A fast run at wallywold requires a bit of luck with the timing, and/or really efficient glide through lulls, and a real chase for the bullets- when you see one just run with it and forget the flat water.
Its a good challenge!
