"Dad, wheres the Duct tape?"
me, (half awake in front of the TV): 'In the second drawer...'
"Dad, where are those cardboard boxes?"
Me, (how can I concentrate on this race?): 'Back of the shed"
"Dad. can we use some Alfoil?"
Me, (the V8 race on TV is at a crucial moment): What?...sure.
The race finishes and there is strange laughter coming from outside.
"Dad, where is the camera?"
What am I, an organic home Google? Hmmm, better see what is going on......."

I had a yellow (lemon) Volvo 244DL of about the same vintage. It BROKE down a LOT. Came close to causing divorce. The final straw for the Volvo (not the marriage) came 21 years ago to the day (tomorrow in fact) as I was driving a wife in labour to the maternity hospital. The bloody thing broke down by dropping the tail shaft which wrapped all the brake lines around it and ripped them off. Fortunately for me my stubborn refusal to acknowledge that the car was a lemon came to an end then and there and I had great pleasure in watching it being crushed.
apologies for going off topic i dont have any volvo stories unfortunately
just as a matter of interest i have down loaded gps results, and i was checking it out using my track from yesterday. the interesting thing was it gave me a alpha 500 of 22.something via trackpoints-when i selected doppler it gave me the results for another gybe and track in a dif location!! i then ran the same sess through realspeed which i havent used for a while, and that gave me a diff result as well(which i have since posted) gpsaction replay pro gave me the worst result of 20. something via trackpoints i think realspeed and action replay pro calculated the same gybe/track.
i then analysed my pb alpha from 30/12/07 and to my relief all the programs gave the same result for the same gybe.
i have reservations about gps results in its alpha calcs, the speed calcs all seem to gell how ever.
the other thing i noticed was that gps results showed all my alphas where longer than the 500m rule does any one know how to re configure the program to calc on 500meters or under?
i guess if you have managed to read this all the way through then the volvo stories may well be more interesting
