Escape the rain... The NSW Formula State Championships are at Ramsgate, Botany Bay this weekend (Dec 4,5).
Last years Champion Sean O'Brien will be back for his first Formula event this season, will he be able to defend his title?
Last years runner up Sam Parker will be trying to go one better this time and expectations are high.
Current form sailors, Mike Nelson, Byron McIllveen, Rick Murray, Remi Dunoyer and Brett Morris will also be looking to make their mark this weekend.

The FE+ fleet is also expected to be a tight battle between Barry Fawkes (reigning champ), Tim Ford (NSW Series leader), Mick Saunders (winner of the last event) and James Farley (showing that strength and consistency gets you to the front).

The forecast is changing by the day so who knows what Saturday and Sunday will bring. One thing for certain is that racing will be close, exciting and everything is up for grabs. Once racing starts all thoughts of rain will be gone - you will not even notice it :-).

And it's that slick new gear that may be the cause of the forecast?

Very consistent Sam - impressive work.

It was the first Formula event I'd watched - I'm still amazed at how you were getting going in such light winds.

We have been spoilt and not had to race in such light conditions in a long time.
It still amazes me that we can be fully planning and racing in 6 or 7 knots.

Sam gave us a lesson in light wind racing, congrat's to him.
Barry Fawkes won by .25 in the FE+ also.

Great to see so many new faces giving Formula racing a crack also.

there should be a report and photos up on www.storm-riders.com.au soon.

Yeah, you're right Mikey ... you should be 3rd.

For some reason they didn't credit Nick Austen on his awesome 3rd place in R2 !!!

Getting someone to edit the results tonight and should get the correct ones online soon....

Congrats buddy ;)
