A good friend of mine also named Greg is an excellent boat builder , he
has made alot of slalom and speed boards , fins etc , He is also a bloody good sailor . He has recently got back into windsurfing and doing some repairs for me and a few other close friends . I am ecstatic with the job he has done on my gear . Also with the 3 full carbon fins he has made me . Here are some photos of a beautiful ka boom I destroyed hitting a sandbank at well over 30 knots , Greg also widened the back of the boom for me so I could bag the sail some more. Also a photo of a 23 cm full carbon weed speed for my 44 ca speed board (haven't had the wind to trial it yet ) but it does look super fast . There also is a photo of a 25 cm full carbon pretty thick profile with the power of my old 29 cm weedy ,
I used this fin last week in my ab 59 wide and did 35 knots on it , Which was my first go of the board and fin .
I was super impressed with both . Was also faster than anyone else that day at Canton . Also
some photos of the boom being repaired .
Yeah , sure thing Leo , Byron , Greg and I will be doing doing some testing , just
Need some wind !!!!!!!!
Does Greg have any plans to sell these bad boy fins? Possibly I might be buying a slalom board or three with a tuttle finboxes thus will need new fins.
Yes , for sure Karl , Chat to him next time or I can give you his number, he also made a 32in the same profile as the 25 pictured , it had a bit more power than a Jp 36 I borrowed on the weekend , As I let James borrow my 32 because I thought it was going to smoke and be on a smaller board . And feels great with my 7.6 and 75 wide , have done 33.5 on this fin . A team mate Hugh has done a 34 .
Anyone wanting a run on mine are more than welcome .
The quality of Gregs carbon work is just quality quality quality. The boom repair is unbelievable, and the fins he is making look and feel unreal keep up the good work Greg.
Ps I will be fighting to pry the 23cm speed fin off Greg to try it looks super quick.
I saw the boom and fins, and I tell you "quality quality quality" doesn't make justice to that work, the boom looks better than brand new and the fins are sick in looks and performance!!!
