Yea.... nope. Barely 850 this year. Probably due to the crazy price rise. But still nice looking :

If you think this year one is an awesome video, then don't watch 2007... Seriously....

Oh my god....actually I'm at this horrific light wind formula event in Italy. Somehow managed to miss the Defi and also PWA Costa Brava which turned out to be probably the best event on the tour this year (ala 50 knots racing!) which were on at the same time.

To quote Steve Allen (who also came to this event in Italy): "I found myself many times sailing half wind just to keep planning before eventually stopping. Definitely the most light wind race I have ever done and quite surprised at why it wasn't canceled."

Haha. I did take all the photos of this event "for AUS", but not much else ...

Was in Torbole Lake Garda today, hoping for a sail. Not enough wind to bother hiring some gear. Am here for work and only had today off. Sean was the event on Garda? Is Torbole usually OK this time of year?

Actually the event was in Riccione, about 3 hours south of Garda.

Torbole is perfect this time of year! As long as there is no rain, it should be windy every single day. In the morning (if you can be bothered getting up so early) you get north winds sometimes 20-25 knots from 6-9am in Malcesine (5 mins drive south from Torbole) and then at 9am it goes glassy on the lake...

Then at around 12.30pm you'll get south winds usually 12-20 knots at Torbole till about 5pm each day. Launch from Conca which is the first windsurfing club if you walk from the main part of Torbole about 400m from the big roundabout. Should be good everyday like this and there's tons of gear to rent (although its Naish).

It was raining on and off, and although the wind came at exactly 12.30pm, it seemed to strengthen about 3.30pm as we drove down the east side of the lake. I had work pressures and had to leave after 2 hours. Beautiful spot. Would definately like to be more orgainsied for next year, the wind was very constant 10-12+knots. Not many sailors around, they probably emerge out of the cafe's when the wind comes in. Here's some pics.

Ah... that brings back memories. I used to sail Lake Garda ever other weekend back in the 90s. Good times...

BTW, I have seen a photo of a big Ora day (southerly wind) where a wave sprays over the little house in the photo below.
