Today is almost the exact opposite of yesterday . While yesterday the wind was flattening any little swell there was, today we have barely 10 to 15 knts but the swell seriously picked up over night.
It's not very consistent but we are getting the odd 6 foot set coming in that wraps around the point and the outside bomby is also starting to show. It's almost high tide so I am guess things will get better towards midday.
The wind is supposed to fill in a bit more as well but nowhere near to what it was yesterday. There is a slight chance for a good late morning session at Windang or Port Kembla on bigger gear. Surf should be quite clean there.
10:30 am update:
Where did that swell suddenly come from? Waves are now solid 6 foot and both bombies are breaking despite it being high tide.
Sadly the wind hasn't picked up and it looks like it will only get more marginal as the day goes on.
Oh, what is that I see on the horizon? Could be? The first proper NEer down here? Let's see what Tuesday will bring.
yeah... been there... doing that... but here is what you missed on Saturday:
A video of some smaller waves from Windang (sorry for the poor quality, was shot with my phone):
Hey, that's me! Nice vid, thks a lot. Why didn't you rig?!
The wind was very light and quite onshore (was thus tricky to get decent speed), but some really nice sets came through during the day. My 2nd session ever in Windang, and even without perfect wind conditions, the sandbank allows for some really good surf.
Next saturday's 'Gerroa Report' could be ..... (I know, 5 days to go).
I unfortunately got there quite late. In the end I decided to check out a few more spots. Probably should have gone for a sail instead... a well.
