Quick question - I'm down in Jervis for the weekend, where is a good spot to sail in a S/SW? Either in the bay or not too far (Windang too far!).

Thanks!

Sanctuary point or Callala bay.

ben the forecast is ssw on Saturday turning s in the middle of the day, you will find the boatramp at sanctuary point the best spot, there is a nice flat spot behind the reef at callala bay with some good size swell out the back
sometimes the southerly doesn't get into sanctuary point like it does at callala , ill be at the ramp

ben,
I was just in Callala for a few days with the family. Got a look around. Skip Jervis and go to Callala Bay.
It's completely protected from the south although an easy walk out from what I could tell. Jason has posted
before about it with photos.

If you are despo for waves head up Culburra beach towards Crookhaven. Looks X shore but will need plenty of
swell.

To the south I'm not sure, can't recommend past Sanctuary.

bottom pic is inside the reef, it is deceiving because the swell can be huge as you get out into the bay , but totally flat behind the reef
top pic is the same day on the open side of the reef

how'd you go?

Sat looked pretty decent at Makaha. I had have a look but 2 of my daughters were at Narrabeen track for
a carni so a couldn't go. Wind was only moderate but a fair bit of swell getting in. A few out there.

My trip down south was cancelled so I sailed Makaha with Tim, Mark, Adrian etc. It was pretty windy by the time we finished with a few logo high sets coming through. Then 5 hours of sailing yesterday at Gerroa. Good times!
