Yeah Kyeemagh was flatwater windsurfing heaven today. Sunny, windy, warm. Beautiful consistent winds. Long runs out and back.

I rarely travel south of the harbour to go for a sail but today it was worth sailing on the bay. I'm really sick of Narrabeen Lake, the gusty winds there give me the sh!ts.

Good on you guys,
I had planed for my first time to go south to try Botany Bay (Yes by lack of time I only have sailed at Narrabeen Lake and I am sick of 35 sec runs), and I bloody broke my nose falling on my knee, surfing on Friday... It will take few weeks to be able to windsurf again...

Most traffic I have seen at Kyeemagh in a long time.
It was great to see all out there having fun and clocking some good times and distances.
lol i didn't mind sitting on the beach watching the "talent" either.
Its great fun esp watching some of the spills ;)
I just hope there are a few more windy days left
Big wind = happy boyfriend = happy me

Yeah, it certainly delivered the goods. Water was suprisingly smooth for a change as well. It makes such a big differnce compared to that nasty chop that normally lurks out in the middle.

For a bit of a hoot yesterday at one point I swapped my 6.6 Daytona off my S-type and stuck it on the SUP. I managed to get it planning (no footstraps) it was awesome fun

When were you out there Jon? I was sailing from about 1pm to 2.30pm. We had to get going after that. We parked up close to the creek entrance, plenty of parking there.

I got down there at about 2ish I think. I set up my mate with the SUP and a small sail so he could have a muck around and got sailing a bit later. Probably sailed until 5ish.

correct I saw ya
Oh well, next time I will keep my eye out for ya and pop over and say g'day
That's not the place I sail from. Too windy there for me esp when the ropes are there. That's my cheering place for the others and my sun baking spot :)

I quite like that spot. The main reasons I dislike Kyeemagh is that its its really difficult to find a parking spot., its crowded and the beach goers there make the place really unpleasant. However up the beach a couple of hundred meters its fairly quiet (at least it was yesterday) and pretty relaxed.

Yeah its true, not many people go there for a reason. The only reason we went there is my van is a 4WD. Otherwise we would have got stuck there

Yep great day yesterday. Saw Elgin and the boys as usual (are you just there all the time, cause I never go there when you guys are not!!). I think I saw you karl, but was not aware of it. I was in the white WRX with blue spoiler... parked on the sand... good thing for AWD!! :)

To me yesterday seemed like the busiest day I can remember of the season. Seemed to be heaps of windsurfers out and getting on great as usual. It seems that windsurfers are great at sharing the water.... but the boat pulling a few people on a large tyre almost knocked me out with the tyre at one point. They were not even watching where they were going. Everybody on board looking back at the tyre. They did see me when they missed me by about 10m with the tyre!!

It was really good around 3-3:30. I went out early with the Starboard GO (180L!!), and had alot of fun. I really think it is a great board. I got it up to 28 knots much to my surprise, and then took it in thinking I would be in for some good runs on my small board, but it then proceeded to die completely when I got out on the short board. I loosened the sail and struggled to plane for half an hour, and it filled out again but not as strong as earlier... but good enough to sail 65kms and give my arms a good workout.

It was a great day, but given the lack of wind lately, it seemed like the best day of the season!! :)

Is a little more frequent wind too much to ask!!... and while you are at it, make it 20-25 knots!!

Argh! Sat here waiting for my gear to arrive from the UK (just moved over here)... and frustrated to be squandering the few windy days we have. Great to hear you had a good day - hope to see you in a few weeks, if the wind gods oblige...
