Had some fast runs at Merimbula last Sunday, building up to 26 knots in a NE. Tested my fitness after a long break, but had a great time.
Everyone from Canberra now getting their sailing down the coast with the poor state of the lake.
That's Bristol with Dutchy.
Great to see you boys got a good session.
Bristol,Alex and I got an easterly on LBG the next day.
Alex cracked carving 360's in less than an hour!
A super session with "me old china", Dutchie. Took the occasional hammering, having rigged my 7.3 Naish. Locals were using 5 metre sails.
Looks great... I haven't sailed in Merimbula in such a long time.
It's a great place to be and I really miss it.
Please put some more pictures up if you have them.
Not many shots unfortunately, but one more boring one, compared to some the action shots I see in the photo library. This old fart is getting beyond getting air!!!
but if you want to see the Ford Oval beach to bring back those memories then I can accommodate you through my kite buggying the following day in a more sedate south easterly!
.
In fact, in the 10 days I've been in Merimbula, only two decent NE blows have occurred, so falling back on my kite buggying especially on a E to SE onshore breeze on a low tide has worked wonders in entertainment in Merimbula.....apart from some great food at Zanzibar's, Cranky's (old "Do Drop In"), and Covington's Thai restaurants. La Nina might be having an effect this year on the NE winds, so hopefully next year will be back to some more frequent decent 25 knot NE's.
