Ladies and Gents,

It is less than two weeks until The Windsurfing Shed sponsored, NSWWA Event 4 at Wanda. As usual, and at this stage sign on is 9:30-11:00. If we have light winds the SUPs will be out.

Hopefully Remi/Adrien will have some great Maui Sails/Exocet gear for us all to try!

See you all there!

Hopefully this time next week we'll be shredding Wanda in a big 'ol NE'r! Not long to go!

Don't want to talk it up too much just yet but thing look good for Saturday.
A decent NE'er and a new southerly swell has rolled in, hope it hangs round.

Looking forward to it!

stupid rule, what will be will be. i can assure you unfortunately nothing anyone says on a wind forum is going to change the weather.

but if it makes you feel better.... looks like it will be really crap and the southerly on sunday will be crap also.

I am not, ok I don't make a habit of walking under ladders.

I just think it is ironic that on a site forum that is wind/swell based that as soon as anyone makes comment about a good upcoming forecast they are shut down, as if they are the sole reason it will not eventuate.

The forecast looks ok and I think if your keen to compete in some good conditions cronulla could be on this Saturday. It has had some great days early on in the season and just want everyone that may be thinking about coming to know that it could be good.

You can hold me personally responsible if it does not turn on.

Hey Duncan how are the banks at Wanda? Will it be breaking at 1-3 ft with the mid arvo high tide?
And there is no doubt the southerly will be crap at Wanda.

Ben/Tim do you reckon you will push for a result on the Saturday or will we have to sail in a crap southerly at Wanda to get the second round done?

As we can never rely on a forecast we always need to make the most of what we're given on the day. If there is enough wind we will aim to finish on Saturday.

If we have only run half the comp we will need to compete on Sunday also.

I like to think that we're getting good at maximising smaller windows of wind so fingers crossed!

I know Manly is NE facing but it was flat this morning. How are the south facing beaches going - will there be anything to SUP early tomorrow?

Cheers

I flew in over cronulla this morning and there looked to be a reasonable swell getting in at wanda

Totally agree. With rules like that, newcomers never get informed of when it will be good.... Both Sat and Sun have been showing a very stable trend (resp. a NE on Sat with possible storm in the evening and a South Blast on Sunday). These things don't just go away, especially the South blast.

Not to mention I can't see anybody seriously believing that talking about the forecast actually affects it....

No... the Southerly is about the only predictable weather system here in Sydney. The North Easter on the other hand can be shut down by a thunderstorm from one minute to the next. How many times in the past has it been blowing 25 knts NE at Wanda when it's raining with zero wind down in Gerroa and vs versa.

Of course talking about the wind makes it go away... It's a government conspiracy. I am now going to put my gamma ray helmet back on to protect me from those mind controlling signals coming from the local mobile tower.

Wind and waves came in for the entire event allowing NSW WA to run all rounds, semis and finals in each division. Good conditions and really quite fun. Move of the event was Jason Cator's shorebreak aerial onto the beach!
Pro winner Francois
Masters winner Al
Ams winner Kai (on his birthday!)
Thanks to The Windsurfing Shed for all the cool prizes. And Jess for all the yummy drinks from Parkers

Well done to all riders (35 competitors) and especially the organisers for an event that ran very smoothly.

There should be some footage of most coming up soon.
