The Windsurfing Shed Four Season Series, Summer Regatta

EVERYONE IS WELCOME!
Escape the silly season shopping, come racing at Lake Macquarie 11th & 12th December.

Marmong Point Sailing Club are pleased to announce that the club will be holding a regatta series this coming year to add to our already popular Mid Winter Classic event. As the name suggests there will be 4 regattas combining to make a series, one for each season.

The SUMMER Regatta will be weekend of the 11th and 12th of December 2010.

We have prizes in place for each regatta and for the overall series winners to be presented at next years Mid Winters Classic. There will also be a series tee shirt available $10 each.

Hope to see lots of people turn up to NSW's home of windsurfing Lake Macquarie for what will be a great event and series, now and into the future.

Day 1 report:

We had a great day of racing with the nor-east seabreeze filling in around 1:30pm, allowing us to get 5 races in this afternoon.

In the main fleet, Tibor Firenczy is leading Byron McIlveen. In FE+ Barry Fawkes and Mick Saunders are deadlocked for first place.

With the forecast for tomorrow nearly identical to today, we should have another top day of sailing. We will aim to have a briefing some time around 11am.

Hope to see a few more of the Sydney faces tomorrow!

Cheers

James

Obviously I have had it wrong all these years.
I thought you were supposed to catch the fish.

After running three more races on Sunday afternoon, the final results from the weekend are up on the club website:

http://windsurfingmarmongpoint.com.au/results/four-seasons-series.html

Congratulations to Tibor Firenzcy for taking out the open class, and to Mick Saunders for winning the FE+ class on a countback with Barry Fawkes.

Thanks to everyone who came along and helped with the event, and especially to Nathan for having the BBQ ready for us when we came off the water Saturday afternoon :)

The next event in the series is the Autumn regatta on 19th-20th March 2011. Dont forget that the club holds fun races most saturdays (except christmas day!) from 1:30pm - all are welcome.

Cheers
james
