i thought about taking the brass bit out & change it to a metric but i've never done that before & the bolt place tried to move the brass piece a little cause it may not line up perfect & no movement at all.
Maybe i send them back cause they wont stay in me board & ask for one's that will.
Maybe, i will be driving to all the bolt places in the phone book & the one's on the net in & around newy till they all close at lunch or i find some bolts, them canton or valentine depends on my luck.
Have you tried Specialised Wholesale at Lambton? They seem to be the best place for stainless gear around Newcastle.
Ha ha ha ha, i guess thats why they just gave them to me, even though they were wrong.
MUF emailed back its a m6 metric thread, funny how m6 bolts only do up half of 1 turn & stop. time to just crank them in there i think, if they strip out then back they go with a m6 bolt, there m6 must be different.
Newy specialized wholesale gave me wrong 1's, newy high tensile couldnt find anything that fits.
the curse of buying new gear strikes again, i should have got plastic cheapies.
Some pics taken at Canton today. The pics show Nick, Leo, Pugs and Rick Murray. Nick and Leo were killing it today looking very fast. Rick turned up late, rigged a 6.3 and probably wishes it was a 5.3 considering some of the gusts that ripped through. At one stage before I went out I had to sit on the shore and hold my gear down because of the 50knot odd gusts making water sheets. Wished I hadn't gone out, got about a km away up the late then whammo, snapped mast
Great photos , very wild there again today ,
Sue was going really well when I was leaving z,
The wind got a lot more consistant later in the day
tomorro sue .. go time ... after landing a few nice jybes was thinking to my self ,, 50l isonic aint that small anny more .. would be nice to try a little water ski 35l/38cm wide thing .. just to see if its sailable
Anyone down canton way yet? any wind? got me fins to fit with a bit of hammering, patience was not working so tried some force & success.
Looking at the graphs I'd say it is pretty good down there..20-25kts..maybe 20 -30kts in the flesh..Wish I could go but fencing needed fixing + partner time..Get down there!
So how was Canton today?
Speaking of fin bolts. I let a set up there a few weeks ago, had a lot of washers on them. If anyone happened to come across them please let me know. They were the coarse American threads so don't try them in your standard metric fins.
Was a good day there today ! A bit up and
Down some solid 25 knot gusts , nick was
Flying with a 33 , 2 sec peak
I sailed valentine, my brother was able to sail so we went
there. tried the 24 weedy & its like a nomal fin, planes easy
turns good gose up wind the same as me slalom fins & fast.
it was a good 25+ had 5.2 up, it was sw ssw & there was some nice
2ft chop & flat parts cause of the little bit west. hopping it

SO MUCH NEW TALENT ON THE WATER UP AND DOWN THE COAST ITS GOING TO BE AN EXITING YEAR FOR SPEED IN NSW.
Yeah it was OTT on Saturday with some huge gusts.
I sailed my 5.3 wave sail with a 90L freewave board as my slalom gear was way too big for the conditions.
Was impressed with the guys on the fast speed boards that look like paddle-pop sticks. They certainly were moving.
After being picked up and thrown downwind twice while still in the foot straps I thought it time to call it a day on Saturday. Did anybody else mention it was bloody cold?
Yes it was cold on Saturday. I arrived fairly early, at around 7.30am as the forecast was for 20 to 30 knot winds all day. However at that time the weather was a light southerly, rain along with very cold weather. I thought I was an idiot who deserved a red thumb for starting this thread and jinxing the day.
I sailed my big board and sail for a while. It actually was quite good after a while, pleasantly powered up but not overpowered. There were two kiters out for company and we had a few runs together which was fun. I found windsurfing is faster than kiting.
I think staying out in the cold and in a wetsuit all day really affected me as I was pretty sore that night and Sunday. I didn't feel like windsurfing in the cold on Sunday. I think I'm coming down with a cold too...
I took some video of Saturday and will try and post it on this thread later. It will be short and sweet.
I haven't noticed the cold thsi winter since I got my toasty new wetsuit.. until Sat when I was standing waist deep in icey water with my back to pelting rain sitting out a 45-50kt gust..Then my hands started to get cold..Warmed up again though once sailing. I dont care if everyone thought I was a whoose going for a 3/4/5mm wetsuit.
. best thing Ive ever done! Ive had better sailing this winter than anytime since I've got back into the sport 3 seasons ago..
