Sounds good Mark. I might be staying down at Laurieton on Sunday night, so will be right there ready to go.
So why Queens not Watsons in a S-Easter? I know Queens gets the s-easters nice and clean, but I'd still like to try Watsons again, as s-e looks perfect, plus I love the waist deep water, nice and easy for me to get back up and running again.
Either way, I'll be joining you, Adam and anyone else who's keen for a run.
PS- Need a few days recovery though, I sailed Tuesday in 14-18 knots for 3 hours at the jail, Weds in the blizzard on the ice lake with you guys for 3.5 hrs, and today in 10-16 knots for 3 hours in the waves at the jail, so fully buggered! But I'll go again tomorrow if it's over 12 knots This sport is addictive!!
Phil in a SE wind at Queens you can get 3 km runs plus there is some nice flat water spots in a SE wind.
Ok, I see longer runs
Will have to have a yarn to you guys about GPS stuff and linking it too the site. Raf has kindly offered to lend me his next trip to the lakes. So I'm super keen to give it a run. Really want see how fast (or slow) I'm actually going. Fingeres crossed for Monday.
Hi Phil,
Go to www.gpsteamchallenge.com.au
Click on register top right hand corner of home page. Then fill
out the page with your details. Put down when asked prefered team. ( Mid-North Coast Marauders )
Cheers
Mark
Just to add to what Karl has said! You could change the user name on Rafs GT-31 to your name Phil while you are using it.But I think Raf would loose all his PBs on his GT-31. So what Raf could do is save them to is PC & SD card. You should buy a SD card of your own and format it to save your sessions to.Use your SD card while you are using Rafs GT-31. This should work. Just remember to clear the Data logger every time you guys switch user names.
All good, thanks heaps for the info on the Marauders and GPS stuff, much appreciated.
Now, I'll probably just go for a run or two on Monday with Rafs just to see how fast (slow) I'm actually going- if only for personal amusment and an un-official PB / goal to beat. Then I'll track down my own unit and log all the details when registering on the site. I spotted GT-31 for $195. Is that a good price? And spotted at Pacaqua midi (what the hell name is that!...lol) carry pouch for $34.95. Good prices?
Is this sport endless or what....
PS- My apologies to the 2339 (and counting) people who have viewed this endless thread.
Hey Mark, SE should also be good and clean at WT shouldn't it? BOM is saying S-SE and SBreeze saying SE to SSE. Thinking I don't want to waste another day at Queens if it will be swinging more to the S as we all know, and I am gunna call it - too much S at Queens is CRAPOLA.
Will look at hitting WT if there is any conflict in the forecasts - keen to give it a run there in a SE any way if it turns out that way - to see how it is - hoping a week without the rain will have drained the lake a little and it will be a little more shallow and a bit less choppy - love the fact there is no weed there too, just mid calf deep slippery mud
Hi Adam,
I'm going to have a look at Queens First. I love the SE winds there. Big long runs.
Today I went for a look at the Lake at Dunbogan. There was a nice light Southerly Wind Blowing of about 8 knots getting into the Lake. Could have got a 1 km run there if there was more wind today. Wind was the same strength as I went over the Bridge from Laurieton to Dunbogan. Could be another spot to sail in a Southerly Wind.
Just started to rain now.
Love all the new spot recon! How much do I have to pay you guys to do some searching further north? Phil & I could do with some new spots
Photo of a Southerly wind getting into the Googley's Lake? or it could be Crowdy Head?
Nice Flat water!!!!
Gotta be Coffs, looking south from Mutton Bird Island?
Now blooooow wind, this 6-10 knot crud is killing me!!!
Looks like Coffs Harbour looking south towards the mountains around Valla.
I used to live at Coffs and the harbour was never a popular spot for windsurfing.
Karl & Phil I think you guys are right.
It is tagged on google earth as being Googley's Lake fly over.
